In some way I expect R&B and funk and soul to have spiritual or religious lyrics but not rock. Rock music is usually only with religious messages when it's Christian rock. No? Maybe I'm mistaken.

U2 has had overtly christian lyrics in their music before, I wonder if their fan board reacts like the little girl from the Exorcist when hearing them.. . Im not even a christian, but its surprising to see so many people behaving judgmentally and bigotedly towards christians in the same way people claim christians are to them.. Change it one more time..

why would funk have spiritual or religious lyrics?
add to that Country music, Folk Music, also Raggae And I would think you will find spiritual/religious tones in 'classic rock' or 60 rock/hippie rock etc

Uh, she does know the controversial musical history of Prince, doesn't she? Not to mention Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and the Allman Brothers... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I really don't know why this is even an issue brought up on the org. Hanna Ford is not Prince, 3rd Eye Girl is not Christian Rock. . And again, to some people just saying God is preachy, and to some just being positive in lyrics is preachy. I mean there were people on the org saying "I don't like LOL because it's too preachy" I don't like it but not for those reasons. . Sorry but people in general are known to be unrational and outspoke on a lot of stuff in general. And bitchy. There are a lot of music styles and messages I'm not into. So what. There are Prince albums I find booooring. So what. Prince: God, 4 the Tears in Your Eyes, the Cross, Eye No, Anestesia, God Is Allive, Planet Earth and I'm skipping over a lot... Agreed. I wouldn't categorise Purple Rain or Gold as rock music.

Indeed it is. And it is strange, because Prince has always been a 'Christian' in his songs. A 'sinner' yes, but that's core Christian teaching: we are ALL sinners. But always about God and always - more or less - 'preaching' . And still a certain segment of anti-religious Prince fanatcis take every opportunity they get to smash their nonsensical arguments on it. So emotional, it says more about themselves and where they are standing in their life, than on the music they pretend to be reacting to.

Vague? Yes, but not meaningless. And yes, healed. Like as in sick, prayed for and than healed. But not from an infection, at least not yet. I don't expect you to understand, sprititually speaking. However, since you have no knowledge of the Christian faith, you really should refrain from putting one down. It's rude. But this is the Org and I expect it. Heck, with a username like your's, what should one really expect? No disrespect, bro or girl, whatever you are.
Back to the original post; My post was real in that I was commenting on 3rdeyegirl not being "christian rock". However, your response has nothing to do with the subject at hand. POLICE!!!
It's all good. I'm not mad at you. Too much negativity in the world. All we need is love. Make love not war. If you don't like my words about love, blame Prince; because his music did it to me.

Purple Rain is an obvious rock anthem IMO. It's the closer to his Rock crossover album.
Gold is possibly more pop than rock but it has a similar rock anthem feel (the released version)

. You nailed it. Thanks for your intellectual honesty. I decided to speak out for the people who might not have felt comfortable doing so. I'd rather be talking about Prince's music on here, but I'll be damned if I'm going to put up with what is essentially social bullying. Tolerance shouldn't be a one-way thing. Hannah appears to be a born-again Christian, along with Joshua. Born-again's and JW's aren't particularly compatible. Well, strictly speaking, no other Christian denomination (particularly Christendom) is as JW's consider them as part of Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion, due to be destroyed very soon.

Nothing specific. I think it just belongs on a Christian Rock radio station. What other kinds of radio stations can you imagine hearing this shit on?

YOU started this ish, by "judging" from a friggin' post elsewhere about Hannah's beliefs and then pasted your God hating disdain onto an album you had already decided you disliked but now you had MORE 'reason' to dislike it. GTFOH!

That's the thing: Prince has not "always been a christian in his songs".
His philosophy or spirituality as expressed in his songs has been and continues to be a mix of christian and other beliefs including esoteric and blending sexual with spiritual. Akashic records. Egyptian. His thing about the third eye / pineal gland is pure esoteric/new age stuff. [Edited 10/21/14 21:36pm] [Edited 10/21/14 21:37pm] ...every night another symphony...
