if anyone digs Lucinda Williams 'Where the Spirit Meets the Bone' sounds fucking sensational. Way more soulful and groove oriented than what's come before. It's hitting me as hard as 'Car Wheels', but it's a completely different sound. Play it in the car with the windows down.

.

AOA is great. Put on some headphones and smoke your best.

Not sure if it was 'released' this year tho

But I'm gonna check out some of your suggestions as i am shockingly out of touch. Getting old....

I would have said yes, but listening to Cohen's 'Popular Problems' and I really can't decide between the two, probably depends on my mood.

I still haven't listened to Cohen--I need to be in the right mood before I listen (and have the right environment).

Yeah, you need to be in the right mood for uncle Leo... Late night, fire burning (if you have a fireplace), good glass of wine...

Interesting. I'll have to give that one a listen, thanx for the advice.

The best album I've heard this year is Dirty Loops' Loopified. It is a groundbreaking mix of modern pop and a jazz/funk infused musicianship. This is the future of pop music.

I haven't heard AOA yet. I'm waiting for the official release.

If this is the "future of pop music" then I'm getting off the train at the next stop.

The intro reminds me of Relight My Fire, the rest sounds like Weather Report/ James Brown wannabes. Nice music? Yes. Innovative? No. Thanx for posting anyway.

AOA is a contender for best R&B grammy album of the year for sure.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Best album to me this year so far. I should add I only listen to opera, classical music, hiphop these days. So I wouldn't be able to compare this to contemporary pop, rock or R&B albums. I'm only aware of the popular singles in those genres.

Thanks to everyone for mentioning their fav records so far. I might have to check them out and get back into other genres.

I've got a log burner and that's one of my favourite scenarios!!!
