These songs are way 2 short for my taste.

I'm going 2 be busy doing remixes of my favorites.

Gotta go with Plectrum Electrum. This album has far more potential for longevity, whereas I'm not feeling like Art Official Age does. What Art Official Age does, however, is introduce Prince to the masses through a major label in a hybrid of then and now... classic Prince elements in a contemporary form... similar to '90s Prince.

.

So yeah, Plectrum Electrum it is.

Amazing, once again the fans are divided as usual, probably another reason there's two different albums.

.

I can't score quite yet, still soaking it all in!

Art Official Age.

I think that brings the score to:
AOA: 14 - PE: 8

This is why Prince actually did a smart move with this one. He managed to devide his fans and let them choose. Prince fans has always been very mixed. You have funk lovers, rock lovers, ballad lovers, pop lovers etc... they all fall more into one category than the other. I'm going to a releaseparty tonight. So I will give my vote tomorrow I guess.

AOA much more cohesive & hannah's vocals grate on me . That said some of his best rock trax in a loong time on PE. Still I give the edge to AOA right now. Way Back home gives goose bumps, true test for me

Way Back Home and its lyrics were decisive

At the moment AOA, but in the long run I feel it might be PE. Still, one more vote for AOA. 20-12 (I think)

I can't rate neither compare these albums for the moment. In the first listening (during busy working day) I was more into PE, but as soon as I went home and could concentrate on AOA I heard all the nyances much better. It was NEW and it was OLD at the same time while introducing adult Prince, who obviously has found his pool of youth. I'm impressed and can't explain more this time, I'm sorry! AOA 1 - PE 1

To me this is like trying to choose between chocolate cake and apple pie. YES PLEASE. But if I have to choose, it's AOA if only because it's solely a Prince joint (for the most part).

AOA outshines PE in every single way for me. I also prefered MPLS to Lfl3R.

AOA - 24 PE - 14 (I think)

AOA gets into my top 3 albums of the year so far along with Pharrell's Girl and Awesome Mix Volume 1.

PS A Prince album hasn't been in my top 3 of the year since Planet Earth in 2007.

I think we won't be able to tell for a few months. For a start, PE leaked later, and you only have to look at the view and responses to see the PE thread is a third of the size of AOA.

Actually, based on the limited availabilty, I'm suprised PE is making a fight of it. Maybe it will be the longer term hidden gem.

If pages per discussion thread are a decider, as of this writing:

AOA - 12

PE - 2

Seems like people are talking more about AOA
