Hey I just saw this video that Weird Al posted of a fake interview with Prince and I just thought it was hilarious and I wanted to share it.

My favorite part is the Purple Rain and rock comparison

I'm not sure which is funnier, the parody itself or the fact that it's been viewed here over 200 times and y'all are just too chicken shit scared of Prince to even discuss it?

Anyhoo! I actually remember when the original interview happened, way back yonder (yes, I did find a use for the word - yonder - in 2014 ) when there was a MUSIC channel called MTV.

You should really get out more and find other pleasures in life than being sneeringly condescending if, in your world, you somehow think some people are too "chicken shit scared of Prince to even discuss it". This is some Grade A disconnection from reality, all based on disliking the recent output of one guy, of all things.

Really funny. I always enjoyed it when Weird Al hosted MTV.

I have the audio from the original interview on picture disc vinyl. (THAT'S WHY HE DOESN'T GIVE INTERVIEWS OR LIKE THEM TAPED)

yeah I have seen it. it was funny. One thin to keep in mind about the actual interview: it was all a hoax. Prince and his people crafted all the questions and answers. In the version shown on MTV it was Steven who was asking him the questions. (but I think that was dubbed)

Well, Weird Al just took an existing interview and spliced in his own questions. I wouldn't say Prince and his people crafted the questions for the original MTV interview or Weird Al's either.

You shouldn't be so sure because this was my first glance at this thread and i didn't even have time to watch the video yet,

Weird Al's no Prince but I give him points his almost Prince-like versatility and longevity.
