I just listened to the previews of "Plectrum Electrum" and the first four tracks sound pretty good. Also, the version of "Funknroll" sounds much better than that shit hop version on the other album. This is a much better album than "Fart Official Age". There's some tracks on "Plectrum Electrum" I don't care for but the album as a whole is ten times better than the other one. I might consider buying this one but I'm still hesitant about buying it from being so pissed that the "R&B" album companion to it is a bunch of sellout shit hop influenced trash instead of hard funk which is desperately needed these days. I never thought I'd live to see the day that I'd like rock Prince over R&B Prince, but then again, I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that R&B in general would have become extinct. I'm stradling the fence on whether to buy "Plectrum Electrum" because it has some decent tracks on it but another part of me wants for Prince not to get one dime of my money for even making that other sellout album when he should have made it hard and funky. Hell, I'm a bitch that way. It's the principle of the damn thing. evillol

The call-and-response slappy bass on Art Official Cage has got my attention at this moment. I like this song and I don't care who knows it.

AOC reminds me of Eye No in many ways. It's got a Lovesexy vibe.

Good observation. And I don't mind pretending I'm some Norwegian college student at a rave. This song is just very cool. And how about his mocking voice, a la Morris Day: "We need you to tell us what you know." Lol Prince, you so funny.

That line actually gave me chills. Well played, Prince.

AOA. It sounds really old farty. Stale and humid.

I'm glad some of you are into that.

I haven't listened to the other one but if Vainandy likes it I'll give it a try.

My only disappointment so far is The Gold Standard clearly isn't about William Jennings Bryan and late 19th century monetary policy. But otherwise everything kicks ass.

So crazy...I was just about to say the exact same thing. I've got a silver certificate one dollar bill from 1935. I can only hope that Prince will come out with a song called Silver Certificate so I can sell it on eBay for at least twice its face value.

yes Plectrum is by far the better album but that really isn't saying much.

AOA really does sound like the step sister of mplsound.

I would really love if they release the sales totals for this thing out of morbid curiosity.
