So, it's been a while since I've been buying or tracking chart singles and releases but is this scatter gun release of half if not two thirds of the album before the actual release date usual these days? Either in the industry or for WB? Just seems strange with one or two of these doing ok - funknroll and a rumoured video to detract from that with further prereleases. Didn't it used to be one maybe two singles before the album came out? And certainly not within days of each other! Comin str8 outta Preston... |

Yep, 'fraid so. Shame, as it seem to be a pretty cool little 50s style rocker apart from that. Ah well, it is quite short. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

Ah well -- my theory is that PlectrumElectrum is Prince making up for some of his past misogyny, so instead of having three young women soft singing coyly in lingerie or Wendy and Lisa in the background, he has three women singing loud way upfront, playing their respective instruments "12 times better than another crazy band of boys".
So far I'm not sold at all on the songs released except Fixurlifeup (and the expected version of FunknRoll), but I'm still hoping overall the songs fit the above theory, which would at least point to some method giving the record a cohesive feel that drives the point. | |

I think the two albums will each have a cohesive feel of their own. Fixurlifeup has grown on me over time, and I was also surprised to be sold on the AOA version of FunknRoll, when none of the other tracks had grabbed me at all really. [Edited 9/20/14 6:53am] | |

Listened 2 them both in full. I quite like them. Much prefer PLECTRUM 2 ART atm. Marz coulda been a bit longer just when u get in2 it, it ends. ANOTHERLOVE is a cool slowed down rock cover of alice smiths track. |

Are you supposed to be able to play the snippes when you go to that iTunes link? Doesn't allow me the option to listen to ANY of them. Takes me back to the US version of iTunes, which unfortunately doesn't have them available yet.
