Where is Prince?

So, it's now two and a half weeks since the albums were announced and roughly the same amount of time to their publication and, as far as I know, there haven't been any public appearances by the guy, interviews, videos or anything. The new songs have created some buzz (both positive and negative) and there is some promotion going on (as shown in Militant's thread), but Mister Nelson seems to be on suspended animation or something.
So, is he already bored and focusing on the launch of the rumoured NPG album? Is it part of the plan and he is busy preparing the impending promotional campaign? Any other ideas?

There's already a thread on this topic, but why do promo so far ahead of release? The week leading up to and after the albums are actually in stores you'll see him a quite a bit, I'm sure.

He's probably mad someplace that U2 just gave away their new album for free to 500 million people.

The band are still getting paid very well with $100 million dollar backing for promotion and, no doubt, to increase their personal bank accounts.

From what I hear it is a crap album anyway and they were lucky to have a multi billion dollar company throw money at them for it. And now U2 have sold their souls to corporate greed. See the iPhone 6 make an appearance in all their videos and on big screens at their concerts. Basically Apple have paid for product placement.

Anyway, Im sure if Prince was offered the same sort of deal he would snap it up. wink

Oh, that sucks to hear that the album isn't good. I guess they have lost their lustre maybe?

Prince? Well, actually, he just left my place after spending the last several hours chatting with me over coffee (naturally with soya milk) about music, God and the industry and playing both new albums in full, plus the new NPG album, the Purple Rain remaster and giving me my own personal CD copy of The Divine b/w Wally cool lol.

Well, where's Larry Graham?

Larry? Oh, he was here too. He didn't say much, just drove Prince over, and carried Prince's guitars and gear from the purple van into my rehearsal space. Donna, Hannah and Ida arrived 45 minutes later and we just jammed together on Sister, Ronnie Talk 2 Russia and Work That Fat for a couple hours after the listening party. Larry and Ida took turns to sit out as two basses was 'just too funkay', P said.

There seemed to be a somewhat strained atmosphere between Larry and Prince at times, but Larry seemed to perk up when I asked him about his views on Love, God and the New Translation. It was hard to hear him tho, cos Prince kept turning up his guitar louder and louder. In the end, Prince asked Larry to go wait in the car till he called for him.

Before he left, I made damn sure I got Larry to sign my 50 copies of GCS 2000 plus my copy of The New Translation cool .

Was a good day, all in all.
