I guess I'm not meant to ever own a copy of Lovesexy

I never thought it could be such a hassle to buy a damn CD, but a few weeks ago I ordered Lovesexy from Amazon through one of their fulfilled sellers along with a gospel CD that was meant as a Birthday gift to my Grandfather , and they both arrived to me me heavily damaged in an oversized flimsy bubble envelope that protects absolutely nothing. This has actually been an ongoing problem for the last 3 months where everytime I order from Amazon I recieved damaged merchandise and I have had to routinely send items back and hope the replacements arrive undamaged, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I have had a few refunds. Nothing I have done, nobody I have spoken to from Amazon or my Post office have made any difference.

So, Last weekend I decided to just order a new copy from a 3rd party on Amazon instead of Amazon themselves or one of their fulfilled sellers, and today I expected it to arrive seeing as the tracking says it was delivered, yet no package anywhere. It's not in my mailbox, not by the door, and my neighbor says he didn't get it either. I've wanted this CD for so long but it seems impossible for me to get a copy without some ridiculous problem.

I'm waiting to hear back from the seller now to see what I can do about it. At least the customer service rep I spoke to was a Prince fan and sung 7 to me over the phone, lol.

Yeah...I think you have prince.org confused with amazon customer service...

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I can't tell where in the world you are, but second hand stores and record fairs have been my source of Prince CDs for a while. For me, Prince has just always been around, so I never felt the need to buy his CDs until quite recently.

.

I bought Lovesexy and about 5 others for a few bucks each several years ago, they are scuffed but play (and rip) just fine. My most recent good find was 'Old Friends for Sale' for $5. I was compelled to buy a second copy of Emancpation from a '$5ea. or 3 for $10" bin at a record fair last month. Yesterday I bought 'Purple Medley', I'm not expecting much from it but I thought "why not!"

.

Its not all good though, its proved harder to find 'Black Album', 'Crystal Ball' and TRC for a fair price up to now.

.

Google for record fairs in your area, google for record stores in towns you happen to be visiting.

Good luck with your next one.

I did eventually get the CD. I guess the person who normally delivers my mail was off that day and the person coverign them put it in the wrong mailbox.

Unfortunately, It turns out it is the crappy 1 track version tho.

I actually prefer the cassette. The one-track version cd is not bad either. I mean, who would ever want to just play one song from Lovesexy and then stop?
