LACK OF PROMO FOR AOA & 3EG - is it a deliberate? I really do wonder if these albums are being released with WB just to:
1] appease him [!] 2] be used as a way to get him back in the charts & somewhere in peoples minds in order to pave the way for a big Purple Rain release in time for Christmas.
There surely can be no other reason for the lack of videos, radio play, TV spots, adverts, interviews etc. It has been 4 years since his last album so would have thought AOA would be an 'event' album?! Compare this to the Musicology promo....that was off the scale!

Beyonce didn't have any promotion for her last blockbuster.... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

But her album came out of nowhere as did Bowies single..therefore both were a huge surprise & caused 'an event'. P did his press media announcement with a preview of 'clouds'+ the 3EG TV spot BUT nothing else besides the track previews. I just find it very curious?

You know what would really promote an album? A tour.
That's all Musicology had that this one does not, well, except for the RR Hall of Fame broadcast.

Taking over Times Square and getting an entire segment on "Good Morning America" to make the announcement counts as pretty good promotion, IMHO.

Well this past Saturday, during the Cinespia "Purple Rain" screening at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, some dude was passing out nickle size buttons for the "Art Official" album. Does that count as promotion? There surely can be no other reason for including ack of videos, radio play, TV spots, adverts, interviews etc. It has been 4 years since his last album so would have thought AOA would be an 'event' album?! Compare this to the Musicology promo....that was off the scale! What kind of promo are you talking about? There are YouTube promos, there is a promo on the warner bros website, there are websites dedicated to each album, there are postings on itunes and amazon. Times square has video screens that show both albums release dates. Im not sure what your looking for but thats a lot of promotion for any artist and thats not including radio spots ive heard on wbls in NY.

Clouds,U know, Pretzel...,Whitecaps and Funknroll and I think he is shooting a video for Funknroll. People have to recognize that Prince isn't going to spend money on 3-4 videos. Its not wise in this market to do that. Prince and the label will make money off of these albums if they keep costs at a minimum. I do think he needs a video for U know!

There's still 3 weeks to go, I'd expect something to happen in the next 10 - 15 days She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

. It's what they call a "profit deal".

There should be coming more the next weeks... For both warner and prince it`s a win win situation...The new record and the upcoming promotion and live appearances will stimulate the catalogue sales ( especially the warner Albums) and i think we will see quite a bit promotion now...So this time Warner can`t loose anything...

What's really funny is Prince and Warners have their history of extreme genius, and of extreme stupidity. When you mix those two together...anything can happen. Good, Bad, Ugly...or In Between. I'm hoping for something good, but worried about the Ugly...or the usual lackluster promotion that happens for all Prince albums after 2004. Lotus Flow3r was a great example....the album simply died after a few nice TV appearences. A tour in the states would've been big...

but beyonce previous record was a masterpiece and sold like a billion copies .. prince last record .. um ... it's sales reflect the talent contained there in .. unfortunately
