any bootlegs, same audio quality as 84 birthday show?

I like live bootlegs but i haven't been able to enjoy any as I have done for the 84 birthday show specifically 'noon rendezvous' due to bad audio quality. does anybody know the name of any with the same or better quality as the '84 show? and even better if there is one with an obscure song like noon

I'm feeling a bit fammy™

That was a fantastic bootleg considering how bad most of them sounded. A better sounding version of that bootleg exists on the Purple Rush series.

Well, there's Small Club

ALL the shows on the City Lights boot are near perfect.

The Lovesexy shows from Japan are crystal clear soundboard quality and jerkoff worthy.

And obviously all the one's that have been televised are available in perfect audio quality.

cool

There's an excellent soundboard of Madison Square Garden 8/2/1986 and a 1999 tour show 4/2/83 in Fresno also.

yeah several. one of the best is the Small Club show from 88

also a lovesexy show was released on video in the UK so that is out there in great video and audio quality.

Quality is important, of course.

But boots can actually be too good, even though that sounds weird.

a little crowd noise, a muddy mix (which can be fixed somewhat with a GE) etc. all contribute to a kind of "special" listening experience, at least for me.

Makes you feel like you are there.

Soundboard is great at the upper end, but some of my favorites are crowd recorded also, and some of those can be pretty good these days with hand held equipment.

too good and you might as well get the official live release.

As long as you dont constantly wish "this part sounded better" you are good to go.

as far as VIDEOS go, however, it can't be better than pro-shot like Montreaux.

I kinda dig what you're getting at.

There are live recordings which are so bad that the only way you can listen to them is through headphones. And because of this, you really get stuck listening to them! eek

But you can only listen to them once in a blue moon, whereas with the soundboard shows, you can just put them on in the car on your way to work, any day of the week and enjoy the serenity. cool

I dont like crowd noises in Prince concerts, because it always sounds like only the guys are screaming. very odd...
