Non fans reaction to U Know. Last night i had a number of friends round. I set up a random playlist of recent tracks from many artists (mostly modern).
Only dropped one Prince track in which was U Know.
When the song came on i could see people reacting to it. Once his auto tuned vocal kicked it a number of people asked is this new Prince material?
Everyone loved the track and was asking me when the albums out.
Gotta say i havent seen this reaction for so many years - things are looking up and this song needs to be a single! | |

Strangely enough, P has always got love from the younger non fans that I know. U know was the first Prince song in a while that someone asked me about. He heard the song and loved it. He kept asking was the album out and borderline badgering me for more details. I wished P didn't get bored with projects so quick and decided to milk and promote them a bit more. A lot of his post Rave stuff had gems that provoked the same reaction. His 80s stuff gets respect from the young uns I know, but they actually wind up downloading a lot of the Rave and post Rave stuff I play for them. My friend says P owes me money for promotion down here haha. [Edited 9/7/14 6:58am] Good music makes me happy. | |

I am a long time fan since 81 and am now 44. My friends last night ranged from 24 - 50. Everyone enjoyed the track. It will be funny as fuck if he begins delivering the goods again now he's back at Warners! [Edited 9/7/14 8:12am] | |

Of what I heard so far I think U Know should be the song Prince promotes first, being it's getting some good attention. Of course that's not how Prince often work though. I think he'll mess that opportunity up. | |

I was thinking a nice reversed guitar solo like the one in Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced" would fit perfectly at the end of this song! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time... |
