He was challenged by Kirstie Alley to take the ice bucket challenge. Google it. Ice bucket challenge. It's a thing right now. It's to raise money for ALS. It's supposed to be donate money OR dump a bucket of ice water over your head, but celebrities, (being the morons they are) think it means donate money AND pour ice water on your head. At the end of the challenge you "nominate" someone you know to do it.

Patrick Stewart is the only one who seems to have gotten it. His video was him writing a check, then pulling out an ice bucket. Instead of pouring it on himself, he got some ice out, put it in a glass and poured himself a drink and enjoyed it.

The point of dumping the water is for you to get a sense of what it feels like to suffer for ALS. I don't think it is and either/or situation.

He was challenged by Def Leppard, too, but I knew he wouldn't do it. I'm sure he donated though.
