Best way to get the new cds on day one?

Please can i ask my fellow orgers for some advice on the new albums.

I want these discs on day one of release.

If i order online will i get them on the 29th? (unlikely)

Or should i trust that they will be in my local HMV record store (Plymouth,England) on the 29th?

If i am confident they will be in store i won't buy online.

Any advice would be apprectated.

Thx

Just download them on the internet when they leak and buy them when you will find them in your local record store

This i know will be what happens, but its been a long time since there was a new Prince cd in a store.

I am presuming that because he is now back at Warners this will be definately in stores, right?

If you pre-order from Amazon in the UK you will probably need to pay for first class delivery to make sure you get it on release day. I'm sure they'll be available in HMV, just pop in nearer the time and ask them. There's no rush to pre-order.

That, my friend is exactly the assurance i was looking for.

If you pre-order from the site, you get the digital download on the day of release.

Pre-order from Amazon (a reliable online service).

They are but you won't necessarily get the CD on release day unless you pay for delivery. Standard delivery is 3-5 working days I think.

That's not uncommon with pre-orders in the UK. They usually send things to arrive on release day, which means it often gets there the day before. But I still wouldn't go with standard delivery if I want it guaranteed for the release day.

I was meaning that it was a shock as even the postie never brought owt on a Sunday and over couriers tend not to. I imagine the delivery guy riding a unicorn.

Haha yeah, I know what you mean. Not sure how long it's been but Amazon have their own delivery service now and they are pretty good.

Going back to OP and their first world problem of how to get the music on day 1. Pre order CD's from here

http://prince.warnerartists.net/en/?intcmp=140812%2Fprince%2Fwbr%2Fspl%2Fs_pr%2Fbut%2Fbdy%2Fuk%2Fplectrumelectrumpreorder_cd

You pay £9.99 for the CD and you also get access to downloads of 320k mp3's to keep you going if the disc doesn't arrive on time.

And thinking about it, I think Amazon also offer free digital versions of any physical music you've purchased from them but you'd have to check and confirm that.

I have pre-ordered bot vinyl albums but it says nothing about getting free digital versions unfortunately.

Thanks for all the useful info.

Holding off at the moment but will probably end up ordering the cd online off the official warners site, mainly cause i want clouds now.

I just miss going into a store & buying the latest prince album.

What are the other songs i can download on ordering? Did i read that we dont get them in the UK?

Since it is a big label behind it, expect it to be in all record stores world-wide the day of release. I wonder how many copies per store will be ordered tho. Let's be real; cd's are dying while vinyl is making a slow comeback. Will the digital age soon follow?

The other songs are Pretzelbodylogic and Breakdown. I got them all with the wav pre-order along with the 15% discounted price.

Haven't listened to Clouds yet though I'm trying to wait until the album releases so that it's fresh. Already played Breakdown to death and don't like Breakfast Can Wait, so don't want another played out track by the time the rest come at the end of next month.

How can you not listen to Clouds?! I see your point about wanting the whole album but you must have some resistance knowing it's there but waiting 4 weeks! You must be tempted after reading people discussing it here

If people were saying it was the greatest track he'd ever done I might crack. But when I read comparisons to Breakfast Can Wait and his decent R&B stuff, then I'm less inclined. If it was one of the PE tracks I'd be all over it but I'm not so hyped for AOA.

Ok

When i submitted my order on the official Warners page, i recieved an email with a link.

Here Pretz & Breakdown had a download button for me to click on and they downloaded fine.

Clouds says pending with no download button to click. Still says it now - just checked.

Have emailed them but got a reply saying my question wont be read til Monday so it looks like i will have to wait til then....

Which is bollocks. Anyone else in this situation?
