I preordered mine on Amazon. I paid $10 extra so I can have them on the same day their released. I could've just ordered the digital versions but I like having artwork.

Yes, but those are getting rare these days.

In the Netherlands a simple record shop in a small city is not really possible any more.

They sell games and other stuff as if you get those every other week.

The world famous Free Record Shop went bust.

So what can we expect for physical retail presence of these two releases?

I asked Amoeba Records here in the U.S. if they would have the CDs and they stated they would have any new Prince albums in stock as they always do... They even ended up with several copies of 2010 after I had already bought one on Ebay, thinking it wouldn't be available here. razz lol

That's why I ordered my cds from Amazon. I live in a small town and the only store to buy cds is Wal-Mart. The last new prince album that I saw for sale at Wal-Mart was 2004's Musicology album. So I kinda doubt Wal-Mart will carry the New albums. It would be nice though.

If you order the CD from the official site, you will receive the MP3 also on the day of release so if it doesnt arrive on time you will still have it.

Yes you can gaurentee they will be in stores, Warner Brothers Distribution is excellent so im certain they will be in msuic stores like HMV to buy on release day smile

Huh? Im saying when you buy the CD you get the Mp3 also emailed to you on the release day, so you get both. confused

It is about getting stuff on day 1.

The MP3z we might get on day 1.

But I guess we can be quite certain that this will not be the case for the CDz.

Yeah probably not lol Although I'd like to think if ordered through the Official WB site there shouldn't be any reason why its not received on release day, they have a pretty good distribution network.

I'd go with Amazon if you are in the Uk. I've also had Sunday deliveries on 2 per orders. They also email you letting you know they are on there way. It's a great service.

I was wondering that. I think we'll get another song or two before the release.

I decided not to listen to anything else that comes out and wait for the release. I've also deleted all copies of the songs featured on the albums to help me.

It's been 2 days and so far.

I'm starting to think that I should have gotten my CDs from Amazon, too. They were listed on Amazon for 19 bucks. Now, the albums are listed for close to 12 dollars. With 3.5 dollars for shipping on each album from Amazon, I will have paid the Warner Brothers/Prince store 2 dollars more than I would have paid for them on Amazon.

I know 2 dollars is not a lot of money but, still. Maybe there'll be some special unreleased track we'll get with the digital downloads.
