Loring Park sessions impressive or not? Some org members like to diss Princes excursions into jazz and fusion. Others say Wendy and Lisa introduced Prince to jazz In my opinion Prince,Andre and Bobby Z showcased amazing musicianship and diversity for such a young gang of musicians Prince was only 19 at the time

Oh. All those instrumentals? I probably listened to them once and then never again. Doubt I even made it all the way through.

They're a lot more impressive to me than N.E.W.S. even though Bobby Z is constantly speeding the songs up.

While the above statement is sheer absurdity ("more impressive than NEWS"), I love this "record" and find it very impressive indeed given the young age of the players. It also shows that Bobby was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more skilled that what later per4mances show. I'd love to see this released one day as an album if their ever was to be a "vault" series, I think it really deserves to be heard! Recorded recorded in Owen Husney's(Loring Park Office) rehearsal room in 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota when Prince was only 19-years-old. This session consists of Prince, Andre Cymone and Bobby Z Rivkin coming together to throw down eight incredibly funky instrumental tracks. The sound quality is supreme with a groove that leans towards fusion that creates one funky session.
Instrumental 1 (5:32)

I agree, once Prince brought in a lot of electronics Bobby Z wouldn't be able to really show his ability. But he did prior. . I would love to have a real release of this

I think there are proficient examples of jazz funk, but nothing mind blowing. good for a young buck just starting out.
i've made up my own names for them to help me remember them better.
