Wow this has got me grooving to the max. This is on constant repeat until late tonight. Love the groovy-pop vibe. I got two sides... and they're both friends.

A Prince apologist on a Prince site...Imagine that?...lol

It gets no more than a 5/10 from me.

I really like the music, it's quite straight forward 80s r+b funk.
I don't really understand the lyric however.

My favourite line in a song ever! Finally someone understands my struggle as a tattoo hater in this ink living world! I dont have any tattoos. I'm not particularly PROUD of it. Indifferent to that fact mostly, in regards to my own skin. Not against tattoos in general at all...I love a lot of peoples tattoo work. I just haven't found something I'm certain I would want on my body my whole life. My kids names for sure once I have some. Otherwise?...I suppose i wear my indecisiveness on my sleeves? Great song, I love it Welcome 2 The Dawn

Coming from The Breakdown this is mixed really nicely. Not overly compressed at all. It's organic and punchy in just the right way. Lots of subtlety in there too for repeated listens. Love the sustained guitar in the second chorus. I got two sides... and they're both friends.

I don't like how he stacks (is that the right word?) the vocals. I know it has been part of his signature sound since the 90's, but I still don't like it. The wooh is on the one!

Nice, breezy R & B. I love the sound of the drums/Linn. The bass is as funky as you want it to be. I like the lyrics. They're seductive, yet also provide some interesting social commentary, which I think many people relate to: The self-obsessed age, where every experience is documented and exhibited.

There's no mistaking this for anything other than a track where the lyrics are as rich as the music. I'm very pleased with it overall.

As much as I'd really like to appreciate the song, I find it quite mediocre... The lyrics have some merit, the groove is alright (and I do like the Linn sound), but there isn't much of a melody. Sorry, not that exciting. P

Funk-tinged R&B done right, IMO. I'm very pleasantly surprised, because I've been all about rock Prince for years.

It's not one of Prince's best songs but overall it's one of the better songs - I've heard in this "new" Prince era 2010-2014. The lyrics are far better than some of the material he's been releasing as of lately and it's one of those songs that grows on you, each time you listen to it. Good song tho, although not a hit - but who cares about that. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

I love the 'It's in the power to love you' part which leads in to the nice solo. I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Ok I've listened to it about 5 times now with good headphones. I strongly disagree with whoever it was to wrote that any old body could write or produce this. The bass/rhythm guitar parts and then the later acoustic add in, and the transitions and breakdowns are things only experienced musicians could make sound so simple. He makes the song sound simple, but its actually got a lot going on in it (which is the same that I found with the Rita Ora track he did). And I agree with Murph's statement that the lyrics are a big improvement over some of the stuff he's released in the last 5 years. I'm not really an R&B listener but I'd give this a 7/10 stars. Change it one more time..

Undecided, maybe the song will grow on me. There are certainly parts of the song that I like and that's some nice sounding guitar at the end. Either way, I'm excited for all the new material! (especially Plectrumelectrum). Hundalasiliah!

Actually, the whole "it's not currently cool to be into Prince" thing resides in the bubble of the Org...In the real world Prince steps onstage and gets a standing ovation at an awards show without even performing...In the real world he sells out gigs in hours...In the real world his much younger musical peers revere the man...In the real world he still gets headlines online for posting a meme aboutLil Mo talking slick about him...In the real world he sold more tickets than Beyonce (the biggest "current" star on the planet) at the Essence Festival...
Trust, the Org will make you think everyone hates Prince....lol
Don't fall for the bitching bullshit... Prince gets respect but he's not selling lots of records, so you can't say "hey, what do you think of Prince's new album?" Until you can do that again, some people will never dare to like a new Prince song, they need the validation first. People have not been buying his music because he is an independent artist and over 50. Since this is on major it will get some promotion but he is operating in youth driven industry. It is not easy to deal with age factor
