Does Prince Hold a Guiness World Record? If I recall correctly, no other artist has had a string of consecutive Top Ten hits by year than Prince. Counting just one song a year you have:
1) Delirous (1983)
2) When Doves Cry (1984)
3) Raspberry Beret (1985)
4) Kiss (1986)
5) Sign of the Times (1987)
6) Alphabet Street (1988)
7) Batdance (1989)
8) Theives in the Temple (1990)
9) Cream (1991)
10) 7 (1992) > Am I wrong? Who has a longer string?

The streak is longer than that. wikipedia lists the songs by release date, diamonds and pearls hit the top 10 in 1992, 7 hit the top 10 in 1993, and The Most Beautiful Girl in the World hit the tip 10 in 1994. At the time he was tied with Ringo Star for the longest streadk and only failed to break it because WB botched the release of I Hate U by allowing some record stores to start selling it a day early. Had those sales been in the right week it would have debuted at #1 and broken the record. I have no idea if anyone had had a longer streak of top 10 singles since then.

I think he is the first and only artist to have a top 40 hit with a horrible rapper rapping about Manure. Tony M- in My Name Is Prince.

He used to have one. I think it was consecutive years with a top 10 hit or something they made uo for him. I saw the book. I was amused but not near enough to shell out... "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

21 nights at the 02 arena is a record I think. It's not acknowledged by Guiness World Records of course, but still... I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Prince tied the record for 12 consecutive years with a top ten pop single in the US...Stevie Wonder did it from 1966 to 1977 (barely; "I Wish" cracked the top ten the final week of 1976 before reaching number one in '77). Amongst other comparable acts, Madonna broke her streak in 1988, Janet in 1996, MJ in 1985, Paul McCartney (solo) in 1981, the Beatles in 1971, the Rolling Stones in 1970, Elvis in 1964, and Elton John in 1978 (although Elton still holds the record for most consecutive years appearing in the top 40: every year from 1970-1999).
Mariah Carey eventually tied Prince, her streak lasted from 1990-2001. Rihanna may break the record but she has a few years to go; her streak began in 2005.

I thought he held the only album to be number one every week for 6 months straight. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I know that in the 90s he held the record for the chart single with the longest single word "Anotherloverholenyohead".
May have been beaten now though? -----------------------------------------

From the Guiness Book, 2000 edition : 7 is the shortest title in the HOT 100's top 10, ever.
He is also the only songwriter to have one song #1 (Kiss) and another #2 (Mannic Monday) the same week in the US.
The Beatles and Elvis reached that record too, but The Beatles were credited as 2 people (Lennon / McCartney) and Elvis never wrote anything solely. Of course, Prince also managed just like The Beatles and Elvis, to have at the same time # 1 an album, a single, and a movie. [Edited 7/21/14 5:58am]
