I really dig this song too, but I think you are reading far too much (or, simply, mis-interpreting) in to the meaning of the lyrics. The White Mansion is Paisley Park and the song is essentially dealing with Prince's early moves, ideas and aspirations with the music industry and summarised how these ideas and his circumstances have changed. It also deals with the trappings and mis-advice given to artists ("Sell my publishing, what a laugh! I don't know Bo, but I do know math!"). The whole song adresses how he realises that he needs to get out of this mire and, one day, will be independant of this beurocratic nightmare, and be happy in his own white mansion, in the snowy climes of Minneapolis. I don't think he is singing about ending it all, or his path to heaven. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
