Thriller bass line straight from 94 East track, check it out

Was listening to the album Symbolic Beginning today that I bought years back, check out the bass line in Dance To The Music Of The World (Instrumental), the bass line for this and Thriller are almost identical.

Who knew MJ was a 94 East fan lol

Peace

Yeah, except that Dance To The Music Of The World was unreleased until 1986 while Thriller is from 1982 rolleyes

Reportedly, Quincy Jones had admitted that the bassline from Thriller is actually inspired by Rick James' Give It To Me Baby. http://www.youtube.com/wa...dNIQVYGXbM

Brian Banks (who played synth on Thriller) also admitted that Jones wanted a strong intro for the song and asked them to take 1999's synth line as an inspiration (that's quite obvious once u know it).

LOL That bass line in 94 East Dance To the Music Of The World reminds me of Jungle Love and Thriller in one. Cool.

I feel like that's one of the more recycled bass lines of the soul-funk genre. It's also the kind of thing they might play during soul revue introductions, warming up the crowd.

Which then mutates into "Round and Round (Merry Go around)" by Guy.
