A very quick and recent review of a newbie to Prince vinyl... ..Two weeks ago I bought a half decent turntable made in the 1970's. I have since bought a new cartridge and needle as the old one was a bit ropey... Anyway, for the past 5 years I have been collecting prince records, namely 12''singles.
when I eventually got around to playing these I was gobsmacked...wow! This is how music should be heard. prince's musical talent/arrangement is fully absorbed through the record, you can heard certain things that a CD cannot simply pick up. An example - the harmonics on the track 'I love U in me' are far more identifiable and richer on recorded, and the track 'Take me with you' is a million times better, the drums are less submerged in the mixing- amazing. Anyway... This is the only way I can now listen to Prince. I've just gotta dust off the Gold Experience next [Edited 5/15/14 8:10am] Keenmeister

Welcome to the wonderful world of vinyl. So glad I kept all of mine (moving it from apartment to apartment for a lot of years) - and a good turntable I inherited from my dad in the 80s. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
