I've always wondered if Prince was inspired by the 1967 psychedelic movie 'The Trip'. The pic below shows something that always reminds me of the Glam Slam video and Alphabet St on the Lovesexy tour.

If I recall, he mentioned Lovesexy was 'a trip, like a psychedelic movie,' in Rolling Stone in 1990

I remember very well the may in 1988, and when I did buy this album on both CD and LP-vinyl, in my local shop called "Stereo Studio" in the center of my danish hometown Ålborg (Aalborg), (Prince played in Ålborg in 2002, on the ONA tour!),

Back in '88 -- with my hands on this album.. I was so electric, so excited.... I even loved the nude cover art, very stylish imho....... with the Prince among those orchide flowers... beautiful..

And this music is such a powerful trip, I really, really this fine abum, back then -- and still I love this trip, Lovesexy......

She knew I loved me some Prince so I hopped on a bus and showed up at her babysitting gig. I listened to it and was IN LOVE. Oh my gosh!! Only song I didn't dig was the title track, which has since grown on me. This was back before it was released in May (not sure how they got an early copy). Anyway, when it was released, I took another bus down to Musicland and got it straight away. Was so dang excited to have it in my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
