I'll rephrase: the hype is lacking and/or the physical product is lacking. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I went to a couple of the 3rdeyegirl gigs in London and after seeing him and the girls in action I can happily report the"old man" is not losing it, they were loud, funkin, rockin, and having a lot of fun. Donna Grantis was chatting on Twitter a week or so ago as the band were listening back to both digital and analogue (vinyl) versions of the album, the vinyl won by a mile, so I tweeted and got this back, so don't give up yet. Is that the same Coming Soon as the 7cd The Chocolate Invasion set which is where exactly She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

Thanks to compression and 'warmth'. Did they dump the actual master tracks to analog tapes or straight to digital? It may appear like the latter is the fact. Back in the days of e.g. Michael Bland they boucned to analog for this effect... (and that was not so long ago...) Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

we should all be grateful that prince is using the org groupies as guinea pigs for his new crappy material .. he knows we all like THE BREAKDOWN and he knows we all think the rest of the new songs suck shit ... he can take as long as he wants .. drop all the crappy songs and replace them with songs that dont blow purple corn chunks .. if he never releases another album that might actually be best .. so as not to run off the last few 12 or 17 people that will give him money for a release .. i mean most of us will keep buying new records year after year because they keep coming out .. no matter how bad they are .. but now that we waited 5 years if he drops another floater he knows people will finally give up on him .. yeah we will all download it for free .. but nobody is gonna give this guy money anymore if the next diarhea stew is bad .. so keep on critiquing his bad music when it is bad and maybe things will finally turn around .. the longer nothing comes out the better the chances are he will stumble on a couple more good tunes before its release

Pretty much all of the reviewers for the 3eg tracks on itunes and amazon are positive, so you're projecting again. Not everyone has your same taste (thank god!). Change it one more time..
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
not true .. everyone has the same taste it just takes some longer to realize how stupid a song actually is .. there is a sort of "i want to love this" effect that must get worked through first .. i know because i used to lap up every pile of poo prince dropped .. over the years you realize what does not hold up over time and what he is actually singing and how bad some of the production really is .. you too will adopt my stated facts eventually .. deep down we all have good taste .. don't be so hard on yourself .. you will aquire it eventually

. I'm not sure what they did, but it could one of the following: A) They recorded to 2" tape, then mixed on an analoge board (think Neve), then mastered digitally. B) They recorded to 2" tape, then mixed and mastered digitally. C) Recorded, mixed, and mastered digitally (doubtful).
'Rainbow CHildren' was recorded to 2" tape, then mixed and mastered digitally (in ProTools). This is why it sounds so beautifully warm and rich. I'm pretty sure the great Femi Jiya handled the recording, while Joe Lipinsky handled the ProTools mastering. "He's a musician's musician..."

Those are some names! And indeed some analog recording/mixing plus some vinyl effects... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

As much as I want him to release a new album, I really don't mind if he doesn't, as he has released so much great music already that his legacy is sealed for posterity.
Got to go "Mountains" just came on. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

. While I don't agree that this is the reason Im not currently listening to PE, I do think this is a heavy issue in the music industry. Back in the day people waited, anticipating a new record. It was a big event! Now they download it, and move onto whatever shit is out next. The excitement in music is gone. I feel bad for P because he's had the best and is now trying to adapt to the way things are and I can imagine it being very difficult for a person who has enjoyed the level of success he has. Everybody stop on the 1...GOOD GOD! Uhh!

Would preordering physical CD's be a possibility? Still excitement, a known amount of CD's can be shipped (via a capable company). Then two weeks later the album drops for general shop release. And also for the intertubes. . Or how else can he gain some excitement/momentum? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

cool! yet, still doesn't mean it's coming anytime soon. there's no details like a catalogue number or barcode on the gatefold. so it's not like they took an LP off a stack of 10,000 that are ready printed. it's just one of a handfull he had printed for now. / but this seems to indicate the project is not dead yet and has a good shot of making it into stores in the near future.

My Predication; This album will be released on April 14 or 15 as a symbol of this 'Blood Moon/Lunar Eclipse'.
The Sun, Moon and Earth all meet up at one point and recreate this red color of the moon. It has some kind of mystical meaning but, I'm guessing this is what they are shooting for.
Any takers on this?! ThankUPrince!
