I especially love the extended version.

And I love the Revolution performing the extended version of that and Love or Money at the Minneapolis Music Awards 1986

That song still get's major radio play, and throught stores and malls.

.

I can still remember the feeling of hearing this new Prince song on the radio back then, going from When Doves Cry/17 Days 2 Raspberry Beret/She's Always In My Hair 2 Kiss/Love or Money it was a rollercoaster ride of excitement

Yep, such an underrated tune. I always feel that people spend all their time talking about tracks like Movie Star and Cloreen Baconskin and forget to mention this baby wink.

Nah, mais serieusement, it's a sexy motherfucker. People often says that it doesn't fit in well with the rest of Parade, but I think that the slinkiness of the lead guitar and vocal is a good fit for the European sensibilty and lightness of touch of the album.

Incidentally, do you guys think that the Mazarati version would still have been a big hit?

Bingefeller

I love Kiss. The whole track has a great feel and I love how dry and raw it sounds. Of course, his vocal harmonies sublime too.

I would love to see video of BrownMark, David Z and Mazarati working on that track before Prince took it back

Prince's second most popular song, after Purple Rain. Love the song then and now.

IMO Prince's best video too.

It's pretty obvious that the extended part of Kiss doesn't fit at all.

It sounds forced and not like the result of a natural musical process.

I'm with OldFriends4Sale. (love all of your Parade-era photo posts too.) It's one of his funkiest extended versions, and it has a sense of humor too, courtesy of Jill Jones & Prince. What's so amazing is that it totally goes in a direction you would never expect after you think the song is already over. I enjoy listening to it now, but it absolutely blew my mind the first time I unwrapped it and put it on the turntable.

I always put this song in my "overrated hits/classics" category right along side "Raspberry Beret" and "Nothing Compares 2 U". They're good songs, don't get me wrong, but I've never been able to figure out how they rate as classics next to so many other tracks I can think of.

Not if you actually try to use both of your ears, lol.

Of course you can always say that you like it this way but don't tell me that both parts sound as if they were created in one natural musical process, that it takes a lot of compositional craft in order to connect them the way they are connected, no way!
