I don't have to hear it--if it's all it was supposed to be, and he purposely ruined it, then erased it (as per Susan Rogers story), then that's worth crying over right there.

Two particular favourites of mine that can really make me cry are "Don't Talk 2 Strangers", which shows Prince's most tender side, and "Lion Of Judah", which shows Prince's most passionate self. [Edited 3/24/14 11:00am]

"Sometimes It Snows In April". I cry every time I hear it... can't even sing past the first verse, without choking up. "He's a musician's musician..."

I often cry to a movie if it's emotional and good, if it touches me. Prince 4Ever.

The Holy River: "People say they love U and they want 2 help / But how can they when U can't help Urself / The more they say they love U / The more U just wanna die". I've felt that way before due to suffering from depression. That has gotten me quite a few times. "I like to watch."

I haven't all out balled to any of Prince's songs, but some of them that have sentimental value and make me teary eyed are
Power Fantastic - last song created with Wendy & Lisa Jam of The Year - first Prince concert I ever went to Soul Sanctuary - reminds me of when Prince and Mayte were together I Will - during a trying time in my life Just My Imagination (small club) - for the simple fact I wasn't there to witness it lol Empty Room (Montreux) - again, for the simple fact I wasn't there! Morning Papers - reminds me of my teenage years...which kinda sucked! lol
And most recently, The Breakdown - simply because it's most likely going to be placed in the vault follow me on twitter - Lovenharmony1 aka @DAPfan2c

I don't think that was the last song created with (the full Revolution) there were a lot of others that followed for the creation of the Dream Factory project. But I understand the sentiment, I did cry when I heard this one because I knew I was hearing Prince & the Revolution

The Grand Progression ... always imagined this with different lyrics to be Prince's requiem ... him making the grand progression into the pure lands ...

Sometimes it snows in April Purple rain Gold (the guitar solo) Also the opening chords to purple rain make my stomach do that flippy thing it does when you drive over a bridge too fast, even if it's the 10th time in a row of listening to it!!

I dont think any Prince song has ever made me cry - as I feel quite differently about them. I find many of his songs moving but in a different way. Freddie Mercury's songs have made me cry in the past, especially those with lyrics that are poignant after his death. In recent times the song (and accompanying video) that has made me cry is "Say something" by Xtina & a Big World - beautiful lyrics and piece of music.
But Prince - he usually makes me feel upbeat and happy - and his romantic songs are beautiful. Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

None more than 3 times. Purple Rain did once. If he'd sing his meaningful lyrics like he really meant it (much like he did with purple rain), then there may be more tears shed over his songs. Prince just doesn't sing those type songs from his heart. It's like he's afraid to sound broken hearted, hurt or lonely. Take I love u but I don't trust u anymore, for instance... Starts off kinda promising,but...that falsetto voice carried no emotion in that song. Nothing compares 2 u is another. Sinead O'Conner sounded emotionally hurt in that song. When prince sings it,it's nothing more than him performing...no feeling the lyrics at all.

"Somewhere Here On Earth". The last few lines get me almost every time. It's an absolutely gorgeous song that I love to listen to but no other song of his--or anyone else--breaks me down like this one. It's like the lyrics give me permission, or make me feel safe to experience inner pain I've not been facing. Serious emotional release.

Every time I replay the episode of Prince and Wendy performing "Reflection" together on The Tavis Smiley Show. If it happened all the time it wouldn't be so special, but it doesn't. I think the way Wendy looks at Prince during the song says it all... ~ <3 ~

Generally Prince music is more about virtuosity than emotional content. That being said, The Beautiful Ones is some really huge emotion, it blows me away every time. Another that really gets me for some reason is I Guess I'm Crazy. I suppose it's the pain of unrequited love that I can most relate to. "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

Let's Have a Baby.. the line about the baby sitting beside him in the car gets me every time. I also can't watch the PR performance in PR without tearing up. I'm such a girl. Everybody stop on the 1...GOOD GOD! Uhh!

Just recently..."Octopus Heart". Multiple times. Can't put my finger on it(and don't want to) but it brings me to tears.

I wonder if Prince realizes how much most of the people from that time period adore him? . but watching this performance was dreamy, watching their hands move on the guitars in sync I forgot where I read if, maybe it was her website From her comments on that Reflections performance she was actually reflecting herself and was in a state of admiration. She said something 2 the affect of 'he's still very beautiful' etc etc . U see that look in just about every performance with them 2gether since the start . Wendy joined him at the Target Center 7.7.07 show and they did a little of Sometimes It Snows In April and it softened my heart and I remember in listening 2 it a woman cried out and I said to myself "i understand purple sister"

. I love Reflection on TTSS, too.. their hands are so in sync and seem to float against the black background of their guitars and clothes.. [Edited 3/27/14 6:50am] Everybody stop on the 1...GOOD GOD! Uhh!

Well, I got the info from the Prince Vault book that Power Fantastic was the last recorded song with Wendy & Lisa. I'm not sure about the other songs of the Dream Factory project, but that song was focused on and the way it was described in the book as to how it was recorded is telling.
Wendy & Lisa was said to have not even been in the same studio with Prince when they recorded it live. Its melody sounds sad and according to the book, it was recorded in a sad time in Prince's life (engagement with Sussanah was broken off). I love any and all information on this song In A Large Room With No Light, was another W&L composition, that Prince wrote lyrics to, and that one was recorded May 4th 1996 2 months after Power Fantastic. . Actually this song was recorded 2 test his new home studio I believe. the band was in the main part of the studio and Prince was in the (engineers part with Susan Rogers) with his back to her. .
It was recorded in March of 1986 so I thought that's actually when the were still engaged or at least in a relationship? They didn't break up till late 1986. She recorded vocals in October 1986 on Rockhard In A Funky Place.
If you look at the lyrics to Shockadelica, they are the same subject and terminology usage.

Same here, its got worse (or better because of tears?) as i've got older. As soon as i hear the first guitar chord and the fall into the Gmin7 sus4 chord, and the progression into the lighter chords, thats it. It just reminds me of the many journeys i have had with this song, the theme of eternity and seeing loved ones passed again. i equate that to this song.
