The kids love Zooey. If anything the novelty kick might be a good thing for this track, might be cool if P releases the new album shortly after with a totally different sound while he is still "on the radar".

Are any of these other tunes any good? I've heard "Monster", "Timber" and "Wake Me Up". Truth... regarding the feedback about how infantile "Fallinlove2nite" sounds, its Shakespeare in comparison.

I haven't but I don't listen to the radio.. one of my friends in Chattanooga did though.

Currently falling down the ITUNES and Amazon charts but interesting that it is getting radio play in so many places. If they play it on my local pop station, I may reenact that seem from the Tom Hanks movie "That Thing You Do" when the Oneders first heard their song on the radio.

If radio does latch onto this it will pick back up. It's good that it's still even on the iTunes chart at all; most of his iTunes appearances in recent years (the few times they happened) were 2 or 3 day blips. This one might go that route as well but it seems to have MUCH more momentum than those songs.

Ooh, it's now 85 on the UK iTunes chart. I guess this is a pretty exciting state of affairs for a Prince fan, even though I'm not particularly confident it will reach the big leagues. Still, I kinda regret that he didn't get this sort of attention with, say, Funknsoul, which seemed to me to be much more in keeping with his style. TBH This seems to be a fairly blatant attempt to cash in on the EDM/club market, and as a 20 year old who frequents clubs I'm not sure he's really nailed the club aesthetic that will make young people who aren't normally interested in Prince stand up and take notice. But since I'm currently listening to Hot Buttered Soul right now I'm probably not the best arbiter of what will take off in the clubs, so in short, good luck Prince!

U shoud have heard "FunkNRoll" on a PA system @ The Hollywood Palladium, where eye saw Prince live a couple weeks ago! It ROCKED the place! Eye also heard it in STEREO! When it was originally first played on that radio station...The bass was PUMPING!!!

Nice airplay in LA. If radio picks up on the song then that reflects on iTunes sales. We'll see!

Yeah, probably giving up hope a little early. It was better in the old days, when we didn't have access to all this data and you just had to wait until Billboard came out. Watching the daily ebbs and flows is a killer. At the end of the day, whether the song is a huge hit or not is not really going to matter but, being somewhat bored and currently without a major project (other than raising two children, paying the mortgage, working 40 hours a week) I've decided to make it my quest to chronicle the hit progession of this song.
