Thought this thread is about chart updates of FALLINLOVE2NITE? wink

sorry i went off topic, i speak my mind and speak 100% honestly at all times. Therefore sometimes it seems rude but its just my truth you know. I never lie and simply cant.

Anyway, this song would have been better if dropped at the right time and had a video to accompany it and some TV appearances etc. Sadly it is a bit of a lame duck.

------- It is lame to you. It would be great if a lot of people would stop trying to speak everyone. The song is making a good showing on the charts at least in the US and it is better than a lot of other crap on the radio. It gets Prince in people's minds again so let's wait and see what the end result will be.

Dude can do a dozen different genres of music. He is not going to be able to please everyone all the time.

I thought that having a forum was so we could be constructive about Princes output? confuse

With that said, as a DJ and musician whom plays to an average demographic of 21-45 in commercial West End clubs here in the UK,

I couldn't play "Fallinlove2nite" anywhere at anytime even though it seems to imply a desirous 'clubby' feel...

Regarding his contemporary material as a DJ, I actually (barely) get away with playing more of "Breakfast Can Wait" than anything else - and that's usually nearer closing time...

I guess if "FallInLove2Night" had a killer remix it could be like like Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness". where the track is known more for it remix, but gets the job done to an otherwise, 'meh' track...

Come on Epic, don't turn this into an Epic Fail (meme to follow)...

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Did I miss something or has the whole world of music become controlled by the 21-45 demographic in the U.K. I am fourty five and I would dance to this if I was in club. I doubt one song would make club goers head for the hills. We are allowed to criticize on this board but sometimes it just plain hysteria and silly. This is not the worst song of P's carreer and not the worst thing on the radio.

Sad but true story:
I once played at a function where the demographic was slightly older, I played "I Wanna Be Your Lover" straight after MJ's "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough" - should've been a winner right?

The crowd went flacid. disbelief

----- That tells you a lot about the crowd. They were card carrying members of the rythemless nation Those two songs are dance music classics and I think your crowd had issues with the two artist. Althought I cannot understand what the particular artist has to do with anything when you are out partying.

"Kiss" and "1999" are generally the ones I can get away with in terms of Prince songs - it's just too easy!

"I Wanna Be Your Lover" I feel, works much better as a live track regardless of the demographic I feel. When I play out at Jam sessions, this (or ANY Prince track for that matter) gets a pop, especially if it's done well and with individuality.

Bottom line is, "FallInlove2night" as it is at least - just does not cut it in a commercial club environment if that was its intention - but that's just 'dre's twocents

.

I think we need a scientific study of this situation. My hypothesis is that there are more tracks they would welcome than you think! wink Try "Lets Go Crazy" next time and lets see what happens.

No Billboard chart appearance for this week. Not sure what the next wave of promotion is but a nice viral video would help. Maybe a Gangnam style new dance created by Prince in the video. I kid of course but I am curious to see what Epic has up its sleeve.

FWIW the song fell completely out of the Amazon Top 300 (US) and is now back at 287.

So fun to watch this hour by hour.

Seriously. ...and there must be other footage from filming that scene which could be used with the proper approval of the production studio.

The clip for the show is too short.. I don't see how he could complete it personnally.

Well scenes are rarely shot in one take and are usually shot from multiple cameras so there should be more than enough to flesh out a simple music video.
