Ok, I'll admit this is a little interesting. He's #98 overall. I never thought I'd ever see a single getting halfway serious promotion, but it looks like Epic is putting a little bit behind this. If it goes to top 40, I'll be more intrigued, but I think this is most likely another two week story and gone again. Unless he can make a seriously fun (and good) video for it..

Actually, he could. It's so easy to get a TOP 40 today with streaming and YouTube views. If he had the right song or even a ''Collab'' (Which will never happen), He'll have a top 40. It's not that hard in this generation.

The Billboard charts made it eaiser for pop stars to have quick top 40 entries.

#21 in iTunes Norway right now. I bet it'll go right up to #10 in a few days atleast. This is going to be a hit. He should make a music video out of it.

It does need a video, I'm wondering if they'll use the clip from New Girl? As much as I loved the show and the performance scene, I think eveyrone has seen it and the song needs a fresh, GOOD video.

The song is already in the 90s could easily bounce into the top 40 in a week or two.

Considering YOUTUBE hits count on the Billboard chart and the low volume of sales these days it is actually easier for artist to get a song in the Top Fourty then it was back in P's hey day.

I also remember coming to this board 10 years ago and seeing the same type of post about Musicology.

People on this board were wrong then and people on this board are still talking out of their ass.

they also said 10 years ago that there was no way he would be a first round inductee into the RRHOF..He burtnt too many bridges etc..Prince is tame when it comes to dealing with artists..If the major compalint is that he looks out for himself then thats nothing compared to the bad bad behaviour of other artists

This song is getting the most airplay on Los Angeles KAMP-FM Top 40 station and it's weird and exciting to see Prince on the same playlist as EMINEM and Katy Perry. I agree, with a poster who said, Prince needs to a top 40 hit to reach the young demographic he is seeking by way of 3RD EYE GIRL and the young people working for him. I don't follow radio but if the song creeps into the top 10 in rotation in a major market like L.A., the song is almost guaranteed to be a Spring and Summer hit, right?

sure he can. His problem for the past 15 years has largely been syncing up promotion with release. He already woudl ahve a top 40 hit had he timed this song to be released super bowl night along with the promotion it's seeing right now.
