all i can say as a german: this instrumental track sounds more like Hasselhoff than prince to me. the beats and sounds reminds me of the cheapest eurodance from 1998 - maybe its produced with jamie lewis or this other dance guy from Hanna

however, i am shocked that prince released something like that -

When I think of Germany I think of Kraftwerk and Anthony Rother. I'm biased though, as I've toured Germany with my band. When we played in Berlin, the promoter took us out afterward to one of the best electronic clubs I've ever been to. We also did shows in Heidelberg and Cologne. Fantastic country.

Prince's New Girl episode repeating tonight on Fox. I tell you, someone knows what they are doing with this campaign. There are ads on so many websites and the TV show with the song snippet may also stir up some interest. For the first time in a long time, it feels like there is a viable commercial headwind behind a Prince single.

I believe the major sites (itunes,google,amazon etc) count towards the chart - not sure if 3re eye girl site would count - maybe that's why he has not put it there.

PS the comment above about Anne Frank made me chuckle. she was from HOLLAND - not Germany LOLZ

This is the first song I've kept up with on the charts in a long time.. where did FunknRoll or Pretzelbodylogic end up on the itunes chart (if at all)?

Actually, liked the song 2nite, but this is a more commercial mixdown and song.. 2nite was too 90's sounding to chart.

The Very Best of Prince? If so, I think is a good mix of what anyone buying it today is looking for but with Baby I'm a Star, The Beautiful Ones, Adore, Starfish & Coffee, Lady Cab Driver, She's Always in My Hair and When You Were Mine it would be much better. Not that all of those belong on a "Greatest Hits" album but yeah..
