It was recorded in 1985 (you have dated it and attributed it to Prince and the Revolution correctly) and released as a download in 2001 through the NPG Music Club:

Just listened to this one the other day. Another reminder of 1984-1986 being a colorful explosion of music This song and some other I could easily see as an album:Adonis & Bathsheba, Cosmic Day, Go etc
I called you on the phone Splash - I'm under your power Oh, when you make love to me Splash - I'm under your power Our love is a rhythm You go from room to room Splash - I'm under your power Splash

If you saw this thread in the Concerts thingie you would write what I wrote. But you didn't. . Context is everything and you lack context. That does not excuse your choice of words.

You might be living in a parallel universe since a short while and/or lacking context. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Initial tracking took place on 1 August, 1985 at the Washington Avenue Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA (the day after the release of the Pop Life single, three days before recording Empty Room). The track was sent to Clare Fischer for string recording in July, 1986, but the song was not included on any known configurations of any album. It is likely that further work was done on the track prior to its eventual release, but recording dates are not known. This final version was planned for inclusion on the Prince and the Revolution album Roadhouse Garden album worked on in 1998-9, but the album remains unreleased.
