I had an urge to watch The Undertaker, again. Went straight to this track on the world wide web.

The guitar on 'Goo' is pretty wicked. I love it.

I'm digging 'The Ride', too. Not as much as 'Poor Goo', though. Prince, throughout his career, has always been kick ass on guitar.

The guitar work on both songs are just awesome. It was at this point (early to mid 90's) that Prince really kicked up his guitar playing a few notches. He really became a better player. I've always wondered if he made a conscious effort to make himeself a better player by studying new scales and techniques or if he just picked up things from the people he was around at that time.

great shout dude. When I first heard this played live with the NPG it sent shivers down my spine, this, The Ride & Peach were played live on TGE tour before they were released - often at aftershows. This track blew my mind! Check out the video 'live at Bagleys' London..DAYUM!!

Have always loved this track; thanks for making me go back to my vault and put this on personal rotation today.

Prince was always a great guitar player.Listen to his playing on 94 east.Its just that after 1986 1992 period of anti guitar hero phase he got his guitar louder in the mix again

Poor Goo is an underrated classic, for sure.

I was listening to The Undertaker earlier. The album's version of Dolphin is sooo good.

I have to slightly disagree. I always felt that before this period, Prince hid a lot behind flaging and overdrive/sustain effects and relied on many of the same runs which he'd use over and over. He's gotten better and better over the years to the point where he's confident enough as a player to go completely straight like he did at the RRHOF. The stuff he's doing these days with 3rd Eye is jusr awesome.

Oh really ok,but do me a favour. lisyen to If You Feel like Dancing from 94 East sessions.Prince kills it on that solo,only effect is a light distortion.

Please listen to that solo.Prince showed a great skills on that one.

Prince didnt use lot of guitar effects in the 1977 1983 period. After 1983

he incorporated wah pedals and flange effects and delay to achive a

sound he wanted.

But go to If You Feel Like Dancing and you will see how wrong you are.

And Prince was only 18 or 19 and he played that killer solo.
