love it, it has that Jam of the Year, Hide The Bone party vibe. Great fun track and sounds big and beefy!

This is one where the studio version is better than the live version.

Definitely.

I have to agree. When I heard all the live versions recently I did think it would probably work better as a studio track...very rare as it's usually the reverse...

I now understand what I think Prince was getting at during his discussion on Arseno i.e. taking time to group songs together that fit the 'album format.' What, IMHO, has been missing for the longest part has been cohesion of tracks on an album.

Clearly Prince has some stella tracks in his recent arsenal but it's hard to imagine them on one album. They just don't fit. I mean, can you imagine this track then followed by LOL eek He must be changing Plectrum up to try and gain some cohesion. It's that good a track that it's raised the basr for the rest of the album.

ah he also said it was an instrumental, i thought the general feeling was because of the lack of tape recorder or notes he got confused and it was infact Plectrum Electrum which opened the album. we'll see soon enough smile

thumbs up! Like this one a lot. Crazy song. Better than live version. Distorted voice is awesome. There's heaps he can do with this song live. Maybe needs to groove even more??

This is a fantastic song!! By far the best thing i have heard from this Album so far. My ONLY complaint is that, once again, it is too short. This one screams for an extended mix. Completely agree with the Black Album esq production, attitude etc comments.

They played the studio version over the PA system at Prince's MEGA Hollywood Palladium extravaganza! It rocked the place! Its very funky. This is another hit 4 Prince...

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

I wasn't feeling the live version at Arsenio at all, but the studio version is quite enjoyable. Can't say anything bad about it. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. So where is the album?

agree with the above comments. This song is great!! Im not feeling the Dont you wanna song though which is weird because it sounded so good on New Girl but after really hearing it I am not as impressed with it. Funknroll however is GREAT!!

Love it! The Camille voice was a good choice on this one. Loving the energy! The "hey hey" stuff at the end brings me back to the Lovesexy days.

The high-pitched vocals, the added chants and adlibs and the drums having the right dynamics make it work a whole lot better than the live version we just heard.

Definitely reminiscent of the SOTT era, which is a bit of a surprise considering the nature of the 3rdEyeGirl project. Damn, now I'd prefer it if Prince would cancel the 3rdEyeGirl album altogether and just release tracks like this one under his own name.
