Yup. Starting from the featured quote on the first page--"I am a giver by nature. I like people. But I test people in many ways." Sounds like a freaking Roman emperor. Thumbs down. Release the lions. I guess he's talking about picking out his band members. Still the interviewer constantly makes little comments about how Prince is in control of the situation, how people take cues from him the whole time. Then there's the unnamed, mute Latina. I guess I'm not surprised.

And just to add to the whole "real" musicians/music lovers talk, when you constantly describe something as "real" there is an implied comparison to something else that's fake. I'm not sure why all these lines in the sand need to be drawn just to describe his band and emphasize what makes them special. At this point, show, don't tell us, Prince. Release the album.

On the plus side, my copy arrived yesterday and miraculously survived the USPS only to have the CD glue rip off part of my cover. The spread is beautiful. I love the photos--old and new--and the retrospective of his past albums.
