er

Thanx, I'll be sure to get a copy. One thing though... A new ballad called Tictactoe? Looks like he's trying to set a "craziest song titles ever" record.

I am so SICK of this "real musician" crap!!!! What is a "real musician"? Just because someone can play chords on a guitar doesn't mean their music is anymore real than someone that uses synths or sequencers. You wanna know why Vintage Trouble doesn't have any hits? Because no one is buying their music, plain and simple! It has nothing to do with if they're "real" or not. (And I personally think its because their music is bland, unoriginal and just mediocre at best.) And Jack White doesn't have any hits!!?? Blunderbuss debuted at #1! SMDH

I agree. A jazz musician playing acoustic music can easily say that Prince's use of drum machines, synthesizers, and sequencers isn't "real music" because it devalued musicians worth to record companies by economizing the recording process. Instead of a human beng creating music by live percussion, keyboards, bass and horns, patches on a synthesized instrument could similiate those sounds to create hit records.

Secondly, he does a sampler dj set, where he sings over pre-recorded music of his own hits during his concerts now. In 2002, Prince would have deplored such a notion. It would benefit Prince if he did a seminar and explained "real music by real musicians" in detail because he obviously has a lot to say on radio, artists and the industry.

Is he referring to technology or is he referring to people who have a truly creative spirit and can make good music with or without the use of technology? Those who can create beyond the formulaic and generic? E.g. I don't think he'd consider Trent Reznor not a real musician, although Reznor might make an entire album via computer, because he knows Trent is extremely creative as a song writer. I think his wording with "real musician" is vague, but I doubt he's simply talking about technology.

Change it one more time..

Don't get too moist over the cd. The title is a marketing gimmick to suggest a link to the cover artist where there is none. It's nothing to do with Prince.
