That's a lotta damn rain.

If any ni@@a can 'make it rain', I guess its gotta be prince...no?

Last night I heard GC talk about how 'country' the song is and twanged up the chorus in a small, short, if not scratchy, vocal rendition in a docu on funk...'finding the funk'

Yeah, it's not like he released a "New Master" or something.

FYI: Coca Cola was gonna use "1999", but it seems that deal got cancelled at the last minute (perhaps because P figured out WB was also going to profit from that):

Coca-Cola rumours...

According to the Den Entertainment Network, Coca-Cola has purchased exclusive rights to use the original recording of 1999 in their advertising for the entirety of the year 1999. It is our understanding that both Warner Bros. (as the owner of the master recording) and The Artist (as the composer) would have had to OK this deal and both will receive a percentage of the money from Coca-Cola. Sources report that Coke may have even more involvement with The Artist in the near future as a tour sponsor. Again, nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.

None of that matters dude! Because it didn't happen. Prince was and is NOT sharing profits with Warners on any new deals concerning his masters. Unless he owns them. He has turnt down MILLIONS to make deals but refuses. Case closed!!!

The "New Master" was owned by Prince not Wb! Anytime he re-records his "MasterPieces" that were distributed by the wb the new version becomes solely his.

The "Ultimate" album was Prince's last contractual, greatest Hits package owed to wb. So of course he has a say so on how he wants it 2 b handled.

Eye would have thought U would already known that! Since U are very knowledgeable on Prince.
