One of the greatest mysteries of his career, indeed.

it must be the meaning of the song that conflict with his religious views

He did in Cologne in 1998!

Just seems like such an obvious guitar track to play with his current band... I love that track and it doesn't make sense. No lyrics in there would upset anyone...

The song is full of emotion and passion.

Something his music lacks nowadays.

This ommission has really left me scratching my head over the years.

Certainly a beloved track that would fit perfectly into his current band's vibe. A reloaded version could be spectacular especially if Prince greased up the main guitar rift and re-interpreted the father's song solo. Watching him bust out Bambi on Fallon was an orgasmic highlight of my many years as a Prince fan - Computer Blue redone right would rank right up there.

That's one of those songs that was a full band mostly band involvement and I think it might be to personal and tied to the Revolution

.

I think he said something about it in an 1997 interview about that being why he wouldn't play it again

As much as I love it, I would not want to her him play that with any other band, America too ...well a few too many to mention

Because it just isn't the same without simulated fellatio. shrug

What about the meaning that conflicts with his religious views?

This song is a deeper level of Something In the Water Does Not Compute

He performed Darling Nikki as late as the year 1999

"til i find the righteous one"

In his opinion he's probably found him now via the JW's. So the song is maybe redundant.

Open to interpretation though. shrug

He could do an instrumental me thinks. But yeah it's probably the meaning, and the simulated feilatio.

Chris Rock(?) during an Emancipation era interview asked him 'does Computer Blue mean ___?' and the Artist responded that has yet to be figured out.

So I think this song 4 Prince is really meaningful and unfolding. You never fully 'find' the Righteous One, you keep seeking to understand. Definately a song about understanding his pain or issues with a woman and inner struggles. Which he still has

lol what is the meaning, and the simulated felatio isn't in the lyrics lol

He was JW in 1999 when he sang Darling Nikki 'I guess U could say she was a sex fiend, I met her in a hotel lobby masturbating with a magazine...' and humped the stage

The bigger mystery to me is why everyone in the club thought it was so lame when he played it and Darling Nikki. That would be the best thing I'd ever seen in a club!!
