Prince deal with Kobalt Music Group?

Back in May 2013, there was a big announcement about Prince signing a new deal with Kobalt Music Group:

.

Through the ground-breaking venture, the seven-time Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum artist, will release a slate of music by new artists, as well as PRINCE recordings and other PRINCE-produced material...

.

.

http://www.kobaltmusic.com/page-news-detail.php?id=WN1161

.

What happened to this deal? Maybe I missed something but it seems nothing has been released as a result of it. confuse

.

.

and it astounds me that FIXURLIFEUP has over 300k views. Never cared for that tune much. The vocals absolutely kill it.

I see no effects of 'work'.

I see not even puzzling tweets and not much else.

Call that marketing? Gearing up for a release? Even aannouncing a release?

None of those.

Oh SSHHHHH!like 2013? Not huge for me. I got a cdr's worth of songs that don't fit well together like an album because they're not an album. Like the official source said they were outtakes.

The Prince/Kobalt partnership is still very much in play, although it has only been digital singles/EPs to this point (Fixurlifeup, Breakfast Can Wait/Breakfast Experience EP). That's in addition to the outakes/demos etc. that have been released by Prince himself in various venues that Kobalt weren't involved in (although BCW started out as just a Prince self-release and later got a proper digital release through Kobalt). Apparently the Kobalt deal allows Prince the flexibility to do things both on his own and with them when he wants a more general release.

Prince just hasn't released "the big project" yet so Kobalt really hasn't had much to work with to this point. We shall see if the partnership ever gets off the ground in a big way or not (maybe around Super Bowl/"New Girl" time? **shrug**).

Also as far as the "new artists" part of the deal KING (reportedly mentored and co-managed by Prince with Kiran Sharma) recently announced their album was coming from Kobalt and Kobalt has begun promoting Liv Warfield on their Twitter and Facebook pages.

I can't see the point in a Liv Warfield album. I don't care much for King so far either. They are all talented without a doubt, but they have nothing to offer in terms of message or marketability. I haven't heard all of the Janelle Monae album but from the tracks I have heard, some of which I am sure Prince is involved in even though it appears he in uncredited, I think it's only marginally acceptable. She is marketable however so I get why she is signed. Liv and King though? Kobalt must really believe Prince has another Purple Rain up his sleeve to justify their signing. Maybe 2014 is going to be HUGE afterall...

Liv is signed to NPG records I think..I don't know about King ( are they signed by Prince?).Janelle instead has her own record label called Wondaland Arts Society on which she produces other artists as well( one really talented dude named Roman Gian arthur who opened for her in her recent tour in U.s.a will release an ep this month via her label by the way)..Janelle herself got signed to Atlantic via P.Diddy before Prince even knew about her in 2007-2008..but they gave her full creative control..Prince is just a huge fan, and collaborator..I don't think he wrote something on her 2nd lp the electric lady, he's not credited as a songwriter, not even on givin' them what they love (on the booklet Prince's credited for vocals, and playing guitar and bass). ..but I'm sure he gave some advices and probably her time spent with him while doing this album influenced her to do a more funky soul oriented album this time around..that probably yes since they seem to be close..

Where did you find the portal to the parallel universe you were writing that from?

In this universe we see no signs of any activity, capability or whatsoever that you are referring to in these few lines of valueable proze.

Can I put them on ebay as first evidence of a parallel universe?

If we have to call the company to ask if anything is coming out of this "exciting" deal, the answer to the question is already obvious...

They would sound outdated soon.

He didn't even rewrite `1999` as `1929` even though that is very time-fitting as we progress in the 'crisis'.
