Minneapolis Funk - Prince CD? I was in a used record store tonight and stumbled on a CD that looks very authentic called Minneapolis Funk and it says it's distributed by Warner Music France. It has the 21 minute version of America on it . Can anyone (from France perhaps) confirm that this is real? Here's the tracklisting:
1. Tevin Campbell Round and Round (Soul Mix Edit) 4'54 2. The Time Pandemonium 4'12 3. Morris Day Fishnet (Big Leg Mix) 7'15 4. Sheila E A Love Bizarre 12'15 5. Brownmark Good Feeling 4'09 6. Prince The Ballad of Dorothy Parker 4'04 sounds remastered? 7. Karyn White Love That's Mine 4'53 8. Michael Jeffries Not Thru Being With You 5'00 9. Prince America 21'46 catalog # 092748238-2

Some dude on Ebay is selling these all of the time. Not sure if it's legit or not though. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I have this CD...it is legit. There are some posts on alt.music.prince about it...apparently the source for "America" is from vinyl so the quality is not exceptional. It's worth picking up if you can find it.

If the source is from vinyl, I question the legality of this release. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It doesn't sound like vinyl. I'm pretty sure it's from the master source.
