You can see it`s was quite popular cause the video has now more the 2.2 Mill views on Vevo and more than 1.9. million on youtube...also the single and album were in not too bad chart positions on iTunes...for example many days #2 in the US r&b iTunes chart...

Yeah, he made it whereas MJ and Whitney didn't. In order to make it he had to sell his soul to the addiction of crackpot organised religion which may have contributed to his song crafting creative death.
