Why would Prince come here as himself to be lied to by all of these worshipers here?? It's obvious [to me @ least] that he seems to hate his true fan base. All he would do is riddle his way around answering the real questions we want to know. He'd probably spew a bunch of bullshit about religion too.

if you had to rely on fans to pay your bills you might not want much involvement with your fans either so he has other fans and bandmembers do the work for him

He actually came on prince.org one night back during the purple and black version. He didn't announce it was him but for about 20 minutes him and someone else (a female, can't remember who) kept switching back and forth on one org account, talking to some of us who were on a thread about Sign O' The Times.

Prince used to hang out in the old "Prince" AOL chatrooms semi-regularly. I remember him mocking us in ALL CAPS for bitching about his new music. He asked for suggestions about tour dates and double albums vs triple albums. That seemed to all culminate with he some of the AOL folks building the Love4oneanother site. I'm positive he goes through periods of reading this prince.org daily. His interests would have been far better served had he directly supported this site and responded when he shut down some of the pay services or went after various entities legally for copyright infringement. But then again, I think Prince has a lot he'd rather not face up to, Orgers essentially have his number, and he would more than likely start more bish than a little bit, just through basic dishonesty. So maybe it's best he read, but not write to this site.

The problem is whatever he'd say here would be quoted forever and it's easy to say silly things or things that will get misinterpreted in the heat of a forum debate, and he's aware of that. + he also knows that with his cryptic way of speaking it'd probably go nowhere anyway: he usually evades answering straight questions in interviews, if u've noticed..

+ I'm quite afraid some people wouldn't behave: if it's W&L or Michael B. or Alan Leeds every one will be like so respectful but what would the usual bashers do if given an opportunity to bash Prince in the face?

IDK, it would be great but I don't see it happening, ever.

He would just disrupt the conversations with multiple statements like PRINCE ISN'T FUNKY ANYMORE AND HIS NEW MUSIC SUCKS. The way I recall it is at the time people were actually saying positive things, but he was trying to make us feel guilty for things he read on USENET or something. I was such a wide-eyed azz kissing fan at the time that I couldn't even comprehend the idea that Prince could release something that wasn't very good, lol, let alone something that sucks! Anyway, at that moment we didn't even suspect Prince was there, but the more he made outrageous statements about himself it became clear that it was actually him, and this was his way of turning the tables on us. So I would log on at the same time and noticed he would show up pretty regularly late into the wee hours of the morning, even later if there were parties or shows at Paisley Park. He was generally a disruptive prescence if there were intelligent, positive discussions about music, but he had no problem with people talking about his clothes, girlfriends, etc. even if those comments were negative. Weird, huh? I emailed him about tour dates and he was kind enough to respond. So that's about all I remember.
