...and despite having downloaded the youtube video a couple of hours ago and converted it to an mp3, I immediately purchased this after reading your post.
Hopefully Prince and/or his people are reading this, and they can see a few things: despite a full-length, high quality freebie, I am more than willing to purchase the same item for a reasonable price if it is in higher quality. Although I prefer FLAC because....well, just because....WAV is lossless too so I'm great with that. Add to that the fact that I get that (fucking awesome, and not just by Prince's low recent standards) artwork, and it's a no-brainer. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

It says it the same length...but its not...it goes on for another 4-5 minutes or so. Track says it ends at 7:20 but it goes to 13:50 He does a bit of scatting around 7:45 or so...There's this incredie tweaked out Tasmanian devil of a guitar solo at the end. My mp3 player(android playerpro) shows 7:20 but when the slider gets there...it stops, the the track continues to player numerical display keeps ticking until 13:50.  its only 88¢...check it out. Its some pretty mean, thick, rocked out chicken-greasing. At some point it sounds like he's yelling at someone to change to or stay in b-flat(I hear clear thru all the Axe grinding) I have both trax...the YouTube one stops at 7:22 or summin...it DOES NOT keep playing. | |

BobGeorge, maybe there is something with your media player? I've just bought the track, it's 113MB, and 7.20 minutes long. There is a huge guitar solo at the end where it sounds like he screams. Maybe you're player replays the track? Hence playing double the length?

this is pretty great .. i have really been hating the piano version of this song he plays live a lot .. sounds like he listened to that old live revolution show and impressed himself with himself .. under the right circumstances 3rd eye can be a pretty great outlet for prince .. he COULD release a mostly live sounding record with this song ... colonized mind .. so far so pleased .. sign o the times .. and the breakdown and a few other strong 3rd eye songs .. not the new garbage like fix ur life up or screw driver .. but the songs 3rd eye plays well live ... not GUITAR .. i fucking hate that song ..
performances like this make me wonder why people claim lotus is such a great guitar record .. it sucks and there is barely any guitar on it .. prince was going for it here .. it shows what he is capable of but unfortunately .. he often does very lazy boring solos .. glad to hear he is going in a better direction | |
