I was thinking Day In The Life has to be the #1 album closer...so I listened to Purple Rain again, eyes closed, just listened to it like I haven't listened to it in years.
The song is a mf'ing monster.
I sometimes forget how incredible that song is as an album closer because of hearing it so many times over the last 30 years (!!!)...but it's literally stunning. Those haunting strings at the end and trickling keyboards fading out to the sound of the crowd cheering...atmospheric as hell and just incredible.

It is. Every couple of years I give it a good  and :headphone: listen andbblows my mind....Evey time. I fall in love all over again. |
