I love that computer bleep. Dave Hill(A Pop Life) was baffled by it too. I call it th e kitchen sink syndrome. He threw everything in there.

The first time I heard it, my mind told me that Prince had a hand held Space Invaders game next to his recording desk and he accidently pressed the "ON" button at that moment.

That's what I hear when I listen to it. I've always heard it and believe that that is what he said. That's the only theory that makes sense and you can hear it beyond the beep.
