-I enjoy Prince's JW undertones in his recent music

-Emancipation is one of his best Albums

-Sometimes it snows in april is his greatest ballad

-Sign o' the times is over rated

I agree with Sign o'the Times being overrated! And that includes the movie. It's all good, but I don't think it stands head & shoulders above all his other work.
I wouldn't call Emancipation one of his best albums, but it surely has some of his best songs on it.
Here's one of my own: none of the Sheila E albums are very good! I like the hit singles, but the albums have too many weak tracks.

Black Album is his best album.

On a musical (not lyrical) level, his song structures are even better than in his popular years.

The "plastic years" (1996-2000) are my favorite era of P's music (and I was a fan BEFORE they happened)!

Try and beat that lol lol lol

I hate the symbol album and that whole period. The look, the tour, the rappers...ugh! Horrible. I like 2 songs from that whole mess...7 & and God Created Woman.

I really like the 3rd eye girl stuff...including Live Out Loud

I think Lovesexy is simply ok. The Black Album is much better.

The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale is one of my fave albums from him.

I really like the Graffiti Bridge album, minus the title track.

I think Emancipation is one of his best. It is aging surprisingly well for me.

I also really like the Crystal Ball set.

Here's another one:
I like Larry Graham! There's almost nothing Prince did that Larry didn't do before. Prince is just a funk disciple and when he plays with the grandmasters Maceo and Larry... That's the best! thumbs up!

Agreed 100 per cent.

Every few years I listen to it to see if my opinion has changed.

Nope. Worst lyrics.

The "Breakdown", though a good song is way overrated. If the songs lyrics are about himself then I really don't feel any sympathy or empathize with it at all. Prince has lived in a bubble for 30 plus years and has isolated and fractured himself from people and relationships during his whole career and now he finds himself alone (and the victim) wondering where everything went and now your down. FUCK THAT SONG.

Graffiti Bridge is one of his best albums including the associated artist songs and the title song.

Rave un2 The Joy Fantastic is his second best album of the 1990's after Graffiti Bridge. It is better than The Gold Experience.

I kind of like "Jughead".

I don't think "Sign O' The Times" is one of his five best albums, let alone his very best.

'Solo' is one of my favourite songs... Ever... In fact, I think Come as an album is underrated.

I do not like/get 'Lovesexy'. I could live without it, tbh.

I hate 'Diamonds & Pearls' (the song) almost as much as ' Purple & Gold'. That's not an exaggeration. I don't care for the whole D&P album either.

I like Musicology. And I LOVE his instrumental albums! (Except for Kamasutra! Although I think even KS has it's moments).

That's all I can think of for now... smile

Except for a handful of songs, I can't stand Emancipation. But I love his cover of One Of Us.

I also really like the Crystal Ball set.

Ditto.

Karmasutra is a good classical record.

I think the rainbow children dialogue adds to the overall album.

Prince handled the independent release of Crystal Ball really well.

Breakfast can wait is a great choice as a single to announce a return.

I like the way Prince manages public relations. It adds to the mystic.

Larry Graham's influence has had a real positive effect on Prince's output.

Prince is excellent at quality control of his own releases. Look at Purple and Gold.

Of course he didn't select proteges simple to get in their pants.

I'm not too fond of Around The World In A Day.I actually find it to be a boring album.

The Gold Experience was truly Prince's last brilliant album.

I love "The arms of Orion". I have good memories associated with the song.

I hate the 12" version of "I wish U heaven". The extra parts totally ruin the song.

I can't stand the long version of "America". Would have been better had it faded at about the 8:00 mark.

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

My favorite songs are Prince singing, writing and playing the instruments.

I like P doing his OWN background.

I don't care if he plays guitar or not. I see posts written, *but he didn't play gui-tarrrrrrrrrr*. IDC.

You play guitar, fine. You don't, that's fine too.

I am there for the VOICE. THe voice that got me hooked the first time I heard it. Undeniable.

All Prince needs is a microphone. He could sing acapella for all I care.

I like the makeup and heels. You know it's him, that's for damn sure, lol,

I don't want to see Prince in t-shirts and jeans. I can see that all day at the mall. Who cares?

I like P to look over the top, and extra at all times.

I like him talking, entertaining, and dancing throughout his shows.

I wish he would've kept those great songs for himself. A lot of his proteges and friends don't sing as well. Not the same effect. Too many tracks wasted.

P gave great music to friends and they whine and complain afterwards. I wish he would've kept the shit to himself, freaked the tracks himself.

I go to a show to see Prince, first and foremost, anyone else there is secondary.

Prince will murder a duet. Most can't hang. He will show you up.

The Black Album is my second favorite Prince album ever (Parade is #1).

I like the whole 20Ten album and play it on repeat.

Come is probably my favorite '90s Prince album. I like it much better than the Gold Experience.

I enjoyed Graffiti Bridge (the movie).

I've tried. Honestly. But I can't. lol

-----

Anyway, I'll do my best.

-----

1. Dirty Mind isn't among his best 15 albums.

2. I usually love Prince's spiritual lyrics. I usually dislike his sexual lyrics.

3. "Graffiti Bridge" (the song) is awesome.

4. Like Supersoulfighter has said, Sheila E's albums are good or very good, but not brilliant. Clearly overrated. I much prefer Ingrid Chavez and Andy Allo.

5. Diamonds And Pearls has Prince's best songwriting ever.

-----

Well, maybe I've beaten you after all, databank! lol
