The Royal Hub - I miss it

Anyone else miss TRH? Used to hang out in there all day for weeks on end, the chat was so much fun. We were like a little family. Hard to believe that was 6 years ago that it got shut down!

Wow, I forgot all about that place, but yes, I used to LOVE it.

Me too, though I defintely lost track longer than 6 years ago. My most frequent usage was defintely around the ONA tour. I had no idea it stuck around that long.

Agreed - I was also surprised to hear it was still around back in..what, 2007?? I used it heavily in 2001/2002 and then stopped for reasons I can no longer recall. I guess I assumed it had been yanked at that point.

If it needs to be global, use the torrents.

Was a great place, certainly miss it. I was unfortunate to only find it about 6 months before it disappeared just as I was figuring out how to set it up properly. Probably a good thing in one respect, as I would probably have more external hard drives now than cd´s.

I am surprised that something similiar has not been set up again, although remembering how hardcore those guys where, I am sure something does exist.

If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

The Royal Hub was fantastic. The ONA aftershows are what got me into it the most. There was also a lot of great non-prince music on there. It was cool to see everybody's different tastes and get turned on to new music that way.

What I find so crazy now, is that everyone on here, particularly on here, talks about TRH freely now out in the open, yet back when it was running u didnt dare say a word about it to ANYBODY, except privately, for fear of the knowledge of it getting into the wrong "hands"!!!

It was a fantastic place.

I remember chatting with somebody on TRH about the existence of a soundboard recording of Montreux 2007. According to him, a soundboard recording was circulating and at least one guy who had a copy was looking for a label to buy it. Or something like that.

If that's true about you not having/listening to any bootlegs, then you are depriving yourself of the best reason to remain a Prince fan. But hey, whatever butters your muffin...

I loved the hub it was a great friendly community and a great source for goodies.

Lost count of how many pm's I sent to people here at the org and @ HQ telling them to shut the fk up! after they would periodically wrtie about it on a public forums. lol

After it was requested to close or else, from the purple police! stickpoke I kept in contact with a few of the people who know who they are by email for a while,

but alas nowadays the hub is no longer required for live shows, the various sources and formats are vast throughout the net.

.

Here are pics of some hubbers and other random hub stuff.

.

.

.....and No the IP is no longer valid, and the hub doesn't exist.

It probably still exist in a silent way, with only a few masters sharing - not publicly. You never know when The Sheriff joins / infiltrates in the blogs nowadays. Even the TRH pics are traceable on IP addresses etc. Some are really naïeve...
BTW I miss TRH, too. I'm content, very content so far, I ought not to complain.

Why do that when we have the wonderfull technologies liek torrents, vpns, etc?

I'd rather have flacs instead of analog tape. lol

Don't be ridiculous and learn how to spell!

You think Mr Web sheriff is going to be lifting IP addresses from the image metadata, trace these images to their source, and then what use that as base for a law suit? good luck with that one.
