And more fitting within the album's concept and sound also. I always thought PC and Now out of touch.

I agree with your first post but I'd keep both P Control and Now. We March and Shy, however...

Hard to agree on this. P control has always ruined it for me, so that's a no go for me. Now isn't actually all that bad, but it is certainly not a keeper. Calhoun Square tho, now that is a beauty.

I kind of like Shy, it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the album; plus if he wanted to include a song with that kind of bare sound... Why not Eye Wonder?

Agreed. We March and Now ruin it for me.

I have learned to appreciate it as a welcome break, but I agree it seems out of place.
Pussy control however is even more out of place. It wasn't on the 1st configurations either.

Agreed that CS and DOW should have been included?

Both songs were not thought through completely... [Edited 9/24/13 15:50pm]

"Days Of Wild","Interactive","Hide The Bone","Ripopgodazippa" and "Acknowledge Me" should have been on The Gold Experience...even if it meant removing a few of the other songs.
I never really liked "P Control" anyway.

I like both Pussy Control and Now, but damn it would have been good to have those on the album. [Edited 5/28/14 7:19am] Hundalasiliah!

Definitely. All those tunes fit right in.
I've always liked P Control. I wouldn't take it off.

We march is the only song I do not like on TGE as the rest are great. DOW would have been the only inclusion 4 me.
I just can't believe all the things people say !

Calhoun Square is the third track on the second disc of Prince's 20th album Crystal Ball (his fourth under the name ). Initial tracking took place on 15 June, 1993 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (the day after recording versions of The Ride, Poorgoo, Honky Tonk Women, Bambi, Zannalee, The Undertaker andDolphin, which comprised the album The Undertaker, which was ultimately abandoned). The song was not known to have been included on any projects prior to its inclusion on Crystal Ball. Calhoun Square is named after the Calhoun Square shopping district in Minneapolis, MN, USA.
In 2002, Days Of Wild, containing a 2002 live version, was released as a single, initially given to attendees at the final night of the Xenophobia Celebration, before becoming available to purchase online and at shows. Initial tracking for Prince's studio version (which remains unreleased) took place in late January, 1994. The studio version of the song was premiered at a party at Glam Slam, Minneapolis, MN, USA on 16 March, 1994 (along with Hate U, Billy Jack Bitch, Now and a remix of Pope, hours after recording Letitgo). This studio version was included as the sixth track on an untitled early-1994 album (likely an early configuration ofThe Gold Experience). It was then included as the fourth track (second song) on a March, 1994 configuration of The Gold Experience, and was kept as the fourth track (second song) on a May, 1994 configuration, as well as the seventh track (fifth song) on a 13 October, 1994 configuration. It was removed for the final release, with little explanation. Mayte was quoted as saying Prince had "other plans" for the track, but it is unclear what these plans were.

The Gold Experience (May 1994 configuation)--I like this tracklist better than the released album

Why are we cutting tracks?!?! Calhoun Square and Days of Wild can both be added to the album, and it'll still easily fits within the 80 minutes CD time limit.
Now is the bomb!! Cut it and my opinion of the album drops.
For DoW, it all depends on what version would be included. The shorter live versions from that time (with the cursing included) blow the studio versions out of the water. I'd really only want DoW on the album if P had recorded a live version before the album was released and put that live version on there. The studio versions don't have much punch.

Totally agree with you about Now ... I absolutely love that song. And okay, Pussy Control is pretty silly, but it's also a lot of fun.
Days of Wild absolutely, definitely should have been on the album. Calhoun Square...I like that song and all, but to me it would have made a great B-side...along with Hide the Bone and Ripopgodazippa and Acknowledge Me.
But then, I don't even mind We March ... especially after hearing the live rehearsal version he put out during the NPGMC Year 1 days ... good stuff. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
