bored Im burntout on princes music. I find it hard to care, Ive moved on to other artists. Pandora has truly opened my ears to music. This doesnt mean that his music and what he does doesnt rock my ass off its just right now Im bored. Has this ever happend to any of you fans. Theres so much more to his music I dont know about and maybe feel like ill never know due to all the hoop jumping or inability to hear what I want because I gotta move heaven n earth to find it to buy it, its making me annoyed more than joyous to be a fan anymore. The LA shows were basically all the same that WTA stint at the forum in LA, it wasnt fun after show 3 .. Idk someone help me out here without harrasing comments please if you can relate in any way Id appreciate a new perspective .. a fresh look .. or maybe i should just not think on it n move on .. come back to it later idk..

I'm not so much bored, but I have the feeling I've seen & heared it all. But the guy has been around since the late 1970s, so that's really not surprising. I missed his gigs in Amsterdam and I don't really care. Okay, so he has a rock band this time, a jazz band next time. Been there done that. As much as I respect him for being able to do all that, it doesn't excite me anymore. That's just the way things go...

Well, i have the feeling that he's losing me as a fan after 22 years! I wanna hear his music and still like it ( breakfast and the other one fixyourlifeup were so weak) But i dont have the time and i'm not willing to search the fucking web for his new music, a new video or whatever! Im simply sick of that silly games! He better wake up - he is 55 and his fans arent teenagers anymore....

I was at the Paradiso shows. No boredom at all. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I go through phases. I've been a fan since TGE and for a long time pretty much listened exclusively to Prince. In the last 7-8 years my tastes have widened and I now listen to a very wide range of artists and genres. For the last three years or so I hardly listened to a single Prince track. Then about a month ago I had my iPod on shuffle and Christopher Tracy's Parade came on and for the first time in a long time I thought "damn I gotta listen to some Prince." I just think it's easy to burn out on an artist, especially if their current output doesn't satisfy you. You just need to take a break...

[Snip - luv4u] When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

i'm the same. i threw on some rolling stones today & still get a wide on listening to their stuff, this ain't the case with prince of late. i haven't quite got over the let down that was the 2nd show at montreux, after witnessing all that shtick i don't care how promising the 3rd eye girl project was, i have now tuned out.. hearing prince since just gets my hackles up, i never thought i'd feel that way i think now he will need to do something properly cool to win my love back, a serious platform, a few old tunes, a piano, his voice, maybe a violin

I think I am more a fan out of habit, I still like the old stuff, but the rest??? And even the old stuff I hardly play anymore, overplayed it to death. I guess I just like to hang out here at the Org! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

I undrstand where you are coming from. I've been a fan since 84 and in recent years have only played the older stuff.
I have phases where I play all the older stuff and I remember just how excited I was to hear a new album or single. Last night I was listening to Sometimes It Snows in April.

They sure do!
Prince was just the first artist that blew me completely away when I was kid, and I have always followed him since...
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

I understand you Jon, and I am rather bored too. Prince 4Ever.

my advice is learn to be patient. prince is just a guy and he'll do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it. no amount of complaining from fans will change that.

^I think the OP has made it clear that he already IS listening to other music. But this is what it's all about: when you've been a FAN for years, when Prince's music, news, tours made you excited, when you where sitting with your ears glued to the radio to hear his next single, or your eyes glued to the tv to see the new video, when you spent the night before an arena to see his shows, when you collected every freaking outtake on bootleg even if it sounded like shit and then, years later, he releases music that just makes you go, yeah...it's alright...then yes, I can understand people getting bored.

Just a bit concerned why his jams havent touched me the way they usually do .. wonders about the depth of my saying im a fan .. feel like a traitor. Wish i was rich so I could go to all his gigs like the fanatic I feel I am to reemurge myself in what i feel about his music. Onward to others, keeping our man in the backpocket knowing I can break it out & crank whats been cranked a ton even more. It is what it is and im a truly patient person.
