It changed when a tweet appeared saying 'PRINCE'S FIRST TWEET... TESTING 1, 2'. If you look down the list of tweets you can clearly see the posts that are supposed to be from Prince. The account also changed from simply '3rdeyegirl' to 'Prince 3rdeyeigrl' IIRC.

Probably plenty of people caught it but learned through the years that Princes promises don't count for much unless you see them delivered. We've been here before... Crystal Ball II, Lotus Flower site etc.
