It doesn't have anything to do with Prince.

It has to do with the fact that Prince has a tiny fan-base compared to the past, and it isn't financially worth the large chains stocking every single one of his releases.

Exactly,

The major chains all have a 'popularity grade' for every album, which denotes whether it's worth stocking, and how many to keep in stock, based on previous sales. It also depends on the size of the store as to which 'grades' they'd keep in stock.

The large Virgin Megastores & HMVs should stock all of Prince's albums still, though I'd expect that they'd only keep 1 copy of each the first 3 albums in stock at any one time.

The Gold Experience is deleted now though, so you can only get it second hand now. And The Rainbow Children & One Nite Alone...Live! are only available as imports in the UK at the moment. Though The Rainbow Children is getting a proper UK release next week.

HMV Manchester, the lot are there and that really cheap place across the road has a good selection at £5.99 ie lovesexy, ATWIAD , P.Rain, etc. You need to look harder.

Mr Huddersfield, are you listening?
When they hear there's Yorkshire blood coming over the border, the Arndale folk will start hiding the stock.

it pains me going to M**chester, When Prince played there i was in and out of the dirty hole as quick as he was!

They always seem well-stocked in Bolton. Especially in Andy's Records store.

Is the Black Album deleted? When it came out it was advertised as 'limited edition', but it didn't seem to be so limited.

I can't see it available in any online uk stores - the best that is available is buying it 'used' at amazon.co.uk.
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
