He has played that song on several tours. Don't know which tours you've seen, but if you go back to the DM tour to present, he has played it a lot. "Controversy" is up there too. I think he started playing it during the DM tour.

I must concur. I have seen him a few times 1997 - 2011 and da bitch never played "When You Were Mine".

Theres a few, I mean I love these songs, but you get sick of them being played all the time.

If anything, I listen to a lot more unreleased music of his nowadays anyways and only listen to studio stuff about 1/3 of the time, but I di watch Purple Rain again today and just loved it. Morris never fails to make me laugh and the "Answer me motherfucker" part is priceless. Also it has a guiatrist in Dez's group who is clearly faking it, he's not even playing the guitar and you can see him doing some frenetic air guitar on it. He nearly drops it at one part. Its a shame as the guitar looks like a Fender Stratocaster, what a waste!!!!

This was released for mainstream during a time when we couldn't sing on mainstream radio, "Let's Go God." Somewhere, there is an interview where Prince stated this thought. He seems to have been taking on a role of transforming mainstream music and letting God work through the music to evlove (evolve) consciousness to a higher level.

Think that he signed up for this b4 this current life. I do.
