Why does anyone say anything about the photoshopping because he still looks amazing for his age?

*

*

*

*

falloff

*

*

Good grief! OF COURSE he looks amazing. He's always looked amazing. He's only 55, which isn't young, young, but it isn't old either. Think it is? Wait until you're 55.

*

*

It's remarkable because, in past pictures, some of the photoshopping has been so poorly done to the point of comical. It's remarkable because Prince claims that time is a trick, yet uses a trick to cover up the affects of time. (Yeah I know...Prince hypocritical??? GASP!!!)

*

*

This is one of the better uses of photoshop on his photos but it still takes away from the gorgeous man Prince is.

He still has the prettiest eyes ive ever seen on a man, but the wig has to go! He's older now n a more low cut hair do would look better. No perms-just cut it low.

I agree, nice eyes. He is maturing well. I like the fro look. I wonder if Price was relaxing his hair back n the day. I just thought he'd only wet it or add some oil moisture bcz he had "good hair". hmmm

Awesome picture. Looks like a real person for a change. Handsome as hell.

As for the hair, hair doesn't age anyone. Time does. There is class ad grace in accepting time and age, instead of fighting it and looking ridiculous. Liberace never looked cool.

thumbs up! well, on everything except the 'handsome as hell" comment..

I really like this pic. Yes, it has been retouched (telltale smudges), but it's not as glaring as the V pics. Fact is, dude looks great for 55, retouched or not.

After all the various Prince hairdos, I can't believe people are getting their knickers in a twist about an afro. It's really freeing when you don't have to deal with relaxers, straightners, blow dryers, hot combs, sprays, wax, grease, et al.

*

Hating on the 'fro would be like hating myself, because that's what my natural hair looks like. Ain't nothing pubic or merkin about it. biggrin

thumbs up! , exactly! I'm natural also, so you know I'm cool with his choice..

Prince has aged well, and thanks for the comparison pics.

I don't think he went crazy with the photoshop. You can clearly see lines on his forehead. 25 year old celebrities use Photoshop, to even out their skin tones and more. Not a big deal to me.

Prince looks a million times better than most in his age range. Also, many performers who were around at his peak have gained weight, or look older than Prince does. Prince does not look bloated with three chins, or run down from rehab and jails stints. Others have gone too far with plastic surgery. P is in shape, and his body looks good in his clothes. There are celebrities even younger than him who look worse off, and have for quite a while. He still has a strong jawline, prominent cheekbones and clear eyes. Prince looks great.

This.

Besides, I respect Prince for not always trying to "look as attractive as possible" in the sense that he'd want to conform to contemporary ideals of what an attractive male looks like. The contemporary ideals for attractiveness bother me a bit because it's all about trying to make everyone look the same.

thumbs up!

Look at these photos - let's appreciate that his nose is the same shape, his chin is the same shape, his eyebrows and ears are in the same place, and his skin tone is pretty much the same. All he's done is makeup, different hairdo, and some photoshop (which every celebrity does for official photos)! That's fabulous! http://library.constantco...t.PDFG3000 said:

His eyes look more almond shaped on the album cover, more pronounced. hmmm, guess that also changes over time.

Agree that he has some of the most beautiful eyes ever. I too wish he wouldnʻt go down the photo shop path. It detracts from his character and he hardly needs to do it.

Well, the '70's afros are back in fashion.

So, your wish will be fulfilled.

I really love this trend. I love to see all those fro's around.

Last week I was on the market, and complimented a woman on how gorgeous she looked.

She was around 50/60 and wore a thight jeans with a great seventies jacket and a big fro.

And she respondent so funny, she came up to me, and said, come here girl, let me kiss you.

And I got a big hug from her and a kiss. Very cool lady.

If I could grow a fro, I def. would fro

I have liked other hairstyles better on Prince. But, the best thing I like, is that he changes his hair style. He does not stand still. Always exploring new things (even the internet).

I prefer a variety of haircuts above just one style.

Not everyone who is black or of color has afro textured hair. The hair comes in many textures, not just tightly coiled. There is not just one type. Every black person that you see with straight hair has not straightened it.

You'd be surprised at who does not know this. Seeing as certain kinds of folk love to touch, question, and ask about the hair on black people's heads.

No kidding.

wink

Apparently there is a group that is not aware.

Again,

At least loving to touch and ask about black people's hair, is better than being afraid of or negative about it.

It's progress.

Loving to touch it, and asking questions, does not automatically mean the person loves it. Some are just curious. Touching someone's hair and being in their personal space is not progress IMO, but I digress. It is invasive. When Barbara Walters sticks her fingers in her black guest's hair, that is not a treat for the guest. People don't want to be made to feel as though they are a science experiment, with people touching their hair.

This is getting off topic. There is too wide of a cultural divide on this matter, to go into great detail on a Prince pic thread.

Look at how many people can't even believe that it's Prince's hair and call it a wig? As if an older black man can't have hair, when Dr. Cornel West has a head full of natural hair, so does Don King. Even James Brown before his death had a head full of hair. Every time there is a hair thread here, there are assumptions on all black people using chemicals to straighten and more. What you may write as "no kidding", really isn't common knowledge after all.

Yes you are right.

And allthough it's off topic, I am interested in issues related to black people hair structure and styles.

A few months ago, I wanted to start a legal case about discrimination of people with dark skin and hair by the hairdressers school in Holland.

However, my complaint was denied because I was white and not directly involved.

(now, that is discrimination right there. As a white girl, I can't start a legal case over discrimination of [Snip - luv4u] people!)

I still think it's unjust that the schools only teach hairdressing techniques for white peoples hair. And not for people from African or Asian heritage. And the [Snip - luv4u] students therefore have a more difficult job to get the hairdresser diploma than their white counterpart.

On the other hand, I'm also glad, because I don't need another court case in my life right now.

Now that I'm thinking about it again, I will try to find somebody else to make the complaint. A [Snip - luv4u] hairdresser student. Because I still think it's injust.
